About

DF-X1 Console is the companion app for the DF-X1 Forensic Console — a standalone hardware unit that screens USB drives and removable media before they are ever connected to a computer. The app pairs with the unit over Bluetooth LE and gives you the screening result in plain language, along with the chain-of-custody record behind it. WHAT IT DOES • Live verdict — see the scan result the moment the unit reaches it, in plain language rather than raw engine output. • Plain-language findings — “What was found” and “What to do,” with the raw detection strings kept alongside for the examiner. • Chain of custody — every scan the unit records, newest first: date and time, operator ID, SHA-256, and signature status at the time of the scan. • PDF reports — export any record as a one-page Media Screening & Chain-of-Custody report, ready to file or hand off. • Operator ID — set it once; the app re-sends it to the unit on every connection so records are attributed correctly. • Encrypted media — enter a volume password on the phone when the unit prompts for one. HONEST BY DESIGN A scanner cannot promise media is safe. When nothing is found, the app and the report say “No threat detected” — never “cleared” — and state plainly that screening is limited to known threats. REQUIRES DF-X1 HARDWARE This app is a companion to the DF-X1 Forensic Console. Without a unit there is nothing to connect to. It is not a standalone scanner and does not scan your iPhone. PRIVACY Scan records stay between the unit and your phone. The app has no accounts, no analytics, and sends nothing to any server.

What's New in DF

1.1

October 7, 2026

• Phone screening: connect an Android phone or iPhone to your DF-X1 and check it against the loaded known-file hash list, with Quick and Deep scan options. • Clear results: a known-file match is shown on its own, with app and profile findings listed separately as notes that don't change the result. • Encrypted drives: after a wrong password, the next attempt now appears straight away. • Chain-of-custody reports now show the hash list used, the date of the signature set, and the full before and after media hashes. • Better reliability when connecting to units with a large chain-of-custody log.
