Simple and Accurate
Simple, fast, lightweight dictionary with quite accurate translations and audios. Has been pretty helpful for my German vocabulary.
Best App available in the App Store.
I have tried many apps but none is as good as dict.cc it has accurate meanings as well as pronunciation that helps very much it also has many wide features that are very useful great app paul 🙏🏻

Suchfunktion klasse
Diese App nutze ich seit vielen Jahren. Ich mag sie da sie direkt bei Buchstaben Eingaben schon Vorschläge anbietet und man gerade wenn man die Schreibweise des gesuchten Wortes nicht so gut kennt dann mit der angebotenen List an Wortvorschlägen das richte übersetzen lassen kann. Keine störenden Werbeflächen lediglich im der Fusszeile eine kleine ads Anzeige .

Ich nutze die App seit fast 10 Jahren.
Ich habe nie eine andere getestet, weil diese hier einfach alles kann, was ich benötige… Ich nutze sie überwiegend für Englisch.
Was unbedingt zu erwähnen ist: sie ist wirklich kostenlos, man wird nicht permanent genötigt doch ein Abo abzuschließen. Wenn man die Plus Version haben möchte, zahlt man einmalig. Man wird nicht mit Werbung zugemüllt.
Einzige Bitte: Ich hätte so gerne ein Widget ☺️

I have been using dict.cc for years. Huge database of words and offline mode is great when traveling.

Excellent App
This is the best German-English app I have found. It is far better than branded apps I have paid for. At the time of this review, the modest $1.99 to remove ads was money well spent.
Best app for German
I swore by this app as an expat living in Germany, and then they broke my heart and stopped updating the app and it didn’t work for awhile. I had to use google translate, which is garbage and is terrible at guessing context while translating words rather than sentences. I am so happy to see that this app is up and running again. I’m in Switzerland using it as I write this!

Einfach super!
Für einzelne Wörter gab es seit 2011 noch nie ein Wort, das diese App nicht hatte. Ich benutze und bewerte es daher ausschließlich für Englisch.
Bei ganzen Sätzen oder Kamera „Aktionen“ benutze ich dann die andere App. Ich möchte hier keine Werbung machen, auch wenn wir sie alle haben und kennen.
Trotzdem verdiente 5 Sterne, weil es mehrere Bedeutungen für ein und den selben Begriff gibt und hier alles sehr ausführlich dargestellt wird, keine Verwechslungen, und die App „weiß“ was der User sucht.

Great app, should add Slovenian
This is a fantastic app that I use a lot and would recommend to anyone. I wish they would add Slovenian though!!

… aber diese App schlägt sie alle und verdient es einfach!
Ich habe alle kostenlosen Wörterbuch-Apps wie Google, iTranslator … und auch ein paar namhafte und sehr, sehr teure Apps wie Oxford, Pons Premium… für Englisch- Deutsch ausprobiert, da ich im Studium viel Fachliteratur auf Englisch lese, und diese App ist trotz anfänglicher Skepzis die beste! Nicht nur für einzelne Wörter, sondern auch Redewendungen, feste Phrasenteile usw. Und sie erkennt sogar immer treffsicher meine schmuddlige Handschrift, was noch nicht mal Google und Goodnotes schaffen.
Ein paar Verbesserungsvorschläge hätte ich allerdings:
- Die Audio-Dateien sollten von besserer Qualität sein. Ich wäre dann sogar bereit mehr für die App zu zahlen.
- Das Suchfeld sollte etwas größer sein. Sogar auf dem IPad Pro eine Zumutung für die Augen und hinderlich, wenn man beim Lesen schnell ein Wort nachschlagen möchte.
Für die letzten 2 Punkte ziehe ich aber keinen Stern ab, da wie gesagt, übersetzungstechnisch diese App es am besten macht. Vielen Dank!

Beste App für Deutsch-Englische Übersetzungen
Alles perfekt. Wäre aber schön, wenn die App auch etwas mac geeigneter wäre, sodass die Bedienung hier etwas einfacher und über die Tastatur möglich wäre. Z.B. dass wenn man die App öffnet, man direkt im Suchfenster lostippen kann, und dieses nicht erst mit dem Mauszeiger aktivieren muss.

after enabling clipboard auto search, the normal search function seems broken, the virtual keyboard stop showing up when tapping on the search bar. Please fix.

Really helping with my German vocab
Downloaded this app on the recommendation of someone on Reddit and immediately bought the premium version for £2. I really appreciate that this is a non-recurring payment. App developers could learn a lot from this. Had it been recurring, I wouldn’t have purchased.
Dict.cc enables me to quickly store words I hear in my German practice, along with a meaning I select from a list, the correct spelling, and an audio pronunciation. I can then play a game where I translate these chosen words between DE / EN and vice-versa. This is incredibly useful for me, as I’m currently picking up a lot of vocabulary from German TV shows and need to quickly store words to practice later.
The UI is kind of clunky but charming. I’ve found that I like it. The whole app feels developer-led - especially when it comes to merging dictionaries. I wouldn’t change it (and this coming from someone who hates most UI design). I think it’s pretty logical.
One feature suggestion I would have would be some way of making noun gender more obvious / memorable. This is something I’m really struggling to memorise. Maybe colour coding the bars the various nouns sit in would help?

It’s just a superb companion for learning a language, I especially find the translated phrases and colloquialisms helpful.
A very small suggestion is that some added verb conjugation information would be useful, but you can get that elsewhere so it’s not a huge issue

Überflutung von adds
Ok also ich benutze diese App schon seit Jahren und habe davor die Seite benutzt bevor es Smartphones gab und es war IMMER der beste Übersetzer. Seit neustem aber wird einem das Ergebnis schwer gemacht und es ist echt mühsam keinen add anzuklicken. Im Leben nie habe ich eine App gesehen die so krass mit adds vollgestopft ist wie diese und das über Nacht! WIESO!?! Was für eine Schande.

The newer version on my ipad doesn’t give the declension of verbs. The feature is entirely missing. I loved the other version!
