Limited capability

I’ve only been using the app for 2.5 weeks. I really like the concept of this app. I am only able to take pictures, input up to 64 ounces of water and provide a mood emoji. The app does not allow me to input food. I’m also not seeing the full trends. I’d love to see these bugs fixed.

Ai interpretation pic waiting to upload

Too long to upload pic and too long to wait for ai to interpret

No Customer Service

I really want to give this app 5 stars, its the best tracking app, but its virtually useless if I can not have my nutritionist connect to it like they advertised. Both I and my nutritionist have tried to reach out to customer service, but all we get back (if we get back anything) are basically bot or null emails. Does anyone actually work on this app? If so, I would really like to continue to use it since the AI helps me log all my info without causing my disability to flare too much. Unfortunately, we just do not have a way to port the info to my nutritionist to review.

Love the tracking - AI photo interpretation seems a little off

I’ve been having GI symptoms and wanted a free app for tracking symptoms and BM patterns. Really impressed that you can track so many things - BMs, mood, food, meds, and more - and it’s simple enough to sustain. The only thing a little off is the AI photo interpretation. Sometimes I feel like it gets it right but sometimes I’ll have formed stool and it will say it’s completely liquid. All around really impressed with the app though.

Not as advertised but still useful

I enjoy that tracking is very easy. You can just type the food, drink or medication, no need to enter more info or find a match to what’s in the
system.
You can customize what you track, it’s easy to edit if you forgot something.
But… I never received an answer to my help request (did receive the automated confirmation!). After a whole month I still get the "not enough data" so I can’t see triggers on the portal.

So it’s basically just a diary/tracker for now (in which you can’t navigate easily)

So useful… but not what’s it supposed to be.

Buggy - history inexplicably disappears

There is much I really like about this app, particularly the ease of use via photos. Unfortunately after gathering roughly 6 months of history it has twice had all history beyond a week suddenly and inexplicably vanish. The first incident several months ago was fixed after I complained but this time I’ve received no response from the developer despite two support requests. So close but not reliable.

Lots of cool features - analysis is iffy

I’ve enjoyed Dieta for a week and a half now! I’ve been very consistently tracking my stoole as I try to figure out trigger foods. I really like that it lets you take pictures in the app and does photo analysis. Unfortunately after using the app for eleven days I haven’t gotten my first week analysis and it’s been frustrating.

Why does the analysis not work?

Love everything about this app, but the reason I tried to use it doesn’t work: the analysis function. What’s the point of tracking my food and symptoms if there’s no way to see any correlation? I thought I had finally found the answer when I discovered this app, but after asking why the analysis fiction doesn’t work I’ve just been told “it should be working soon.” I’m so bummed.

Analysis seems inconsistent with Bristol stool chart

At first I thought this was a great tool. Lately, not so much. Analysis is inaccurate if the standard is the Bristol stool chart. Had high hopes for this. But it is a way to store photos to show a physician.

Great app minus the graphing

While I love the tracking of a variety of symptoms in the app, with how much data is collected I would have thought there would be more detailed graphs of my symptoms. The graphing was a selling point of the app for me but I was disappointed to find only one graph waiting for me. It only accounts for an overall view of how I felt each day on a scale of “excellent” to “terrible.”

Motivation for change

I never leave reviews, but I needed to this time.

Been struggling with stomach issues my entire life and trying to track my food but either lost the notebook, the will, or the habit within the first week.

This app is a godsend, enough said. I would pay money for this, but I’m glad it’s free because we didn’t choose these problems, but we’re addressing them.

Most customizable

The most customizable diet/pain tracking app and most comprehensive for digestive issues: It has an actual stool picture analyzer. You can add anything into the diary. If you really want to investigate like exactly what food, medications, activities are affecting your digestive symptoms, it’s perfect.

Bugs prevent creating account!

The app is probably good but downloaded 3 times and it will not let you created an account. Several error bug messages. Maybe not compatible with latest. iOS

Buggy

Worked great for a day. Now it won't save half, or more, of my food and ingredient selections for meals. Going to have to switch to something else. Was hopeful but I'm left very disappointed.

Your data is not safe on the app!

After one day of using the app I received a message from a dietitian offering her services.

I wasn’t expecting that such sensitive information as my personal health details, especially in such delicate matter, will be shared with those who just want to advertise themselves.

I felt that my privacy was brutally breached.
Deleting the app! I’d rather use an old fashion pen and paper method to make sure that I am not being ambushed.

Extremely inappropriate!

Nice tracking UI but no analytics...

Tracking timeline UI is nicer than others I’ve tried. Unfortunately app does not do any analytics, despite this being it’s main draw for me. Have fully tracked everything for over 7 days now (which is minimum to see Analysis page) and still just see a splash screen with no content.

Will switch away as what I really wanted was something to correlate bad symptom days with different foods, but not seeing any of that capability here unfortunately.

Pretty cool app

App seems great, very easy to use. Much easier then some other apps I tried. One other app I tried told me everything I ate was bad lol. So was hoping for better insight with this one but was kinda disappointed after 7 days of tracking that I didn’t get an analysis within the app nor did I get an emailed report. Was looking forward to some possible insight on my issues while waiting on tests. Support is supposed to be looking into it. Currently the only I can view analysis reports is via a desktop to a portal website as the mobile view is having issues...like huh? It’s an app why can’t i see stuff within the app

Response from developer

Thank you for the feedback! We're focusing on making the act as simple as possible while still enabling our models to provide time series analysis. 7 days is just a minimum threshold to allow the analysis report to produce results, though once it can product results given enough data - it will get better and better over time. Diligence is key! Regarding the analysis reporting, we're actively working on better data modeling and iterating quickly, so for now we only provide the viewing of the analysis on our web app. But soon we will move some of the key report metrics to the mobile app. We're a very small team - and thank you for your patients. Your feedback is much appreciated - and will make Dieta much better as we improve our technology!

I love this app!

Three days in and I love this app. It has all of the features I wanted from a record keeping app. The app makes recording food intake easy. I really appreciate having records of my medication intake to go along with. It also lets me record mood, body pain, and overall well being. I’m looking forward to day 7 when I can see the analysis. Oh, and I appreciate that it doesn’t do analysis until it has seven days to collect data.

The feature that surprised me was the suggestion of possible interventions I might take to help with the IBS. I took the suggestion to add ginger to my diet. We will see how that goes. So far, so good.

Finally an app for my IBD needs.

I am already diagnosed with IBD and have been dealing with UC for a few years now. I have been using food as a tool to help my symptoms and had a hard time finding an app that I could track food/symptoms and bowels. Thank you for creating an app that so far has been extremely easy to work with and aligns with my needs!

Crashed several times on first use

“Help” screens are uncaptioned tiny videos.

Requires account creation. Gave it one of my many emails, they plucked a photo of me from somewhere on web. I’m deleting app but don’t know how to pull my info from their server.

They do send a welcome email, so at least I can complain directly
