What's New in Gutly

3017

March 6, 2026

We heard you — and we're sorry. The last update removed daily digests without warning, and that wasn't right. This update brings them back and gives you full control. What's Fixed: - Daily Digests are back — Choose between daily or weekly AI reports. Your preference, your schedule. - Past reports always visible — Your digest card and Prof Gut are no longer hidden behind the daily checklist. You can always access yesterday's report. - "No bowel today" is easier to find — The button is now clearly visible so you never feel forced to log something that didn't happen. What's New: - Choose your digest frequency — Pick daily or weekly during onboarding, in settings, or directly from the My Gut page. Switch anytime. - Smarter empty states — When waiting for your first digest, you'll see exactly when it arrives (e.g. "Monday at 7:00 AM") instead of a vague "please wait." Thank you for your patience and feedback. It makes Gutly better. Questions? Reach out at support@bornly.com

User reviews

Helpful, but with quirks

While this tool has been helpful in logging symptoms, bms, food intake etc, it also has some User interface issues that can be a bit frustrating

Response from developer

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this thoughtful review. I’m really glad the app has been helpful for tracking your symptoms, BMs, and food intake, and I’m equally grateful you called out where things feel frustrating. I’m always working to make the interface smoother and more intuitive, and feedback like yours is exactly what helps guide future improvements. If you’re open to it, I’d love to hear a bit more about the specific UI issues you’re running into so I can pass them directly to the design and development team: mikkel@bornly.com Thanks again for sticking with the app and helping make it better.

Unhelpful

I will rewrite this if I find this to be user error, but on the very first meal I tried tracking, none of the ingredients were in the system. On the second meal, I tried tracking. I used a barcode and that was not in the system either. I was unable to upload the information as well. This was supposed to save me time and has wasted over an hour of it!

Response from developer

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback and I’m really sorry for the frustration and time lost. This is absolutely not the experience we want you to have with Gutly. Our food and barcode database is still growing, so there will unfortunately be items we don’t have yet—but you should never be stuck or unable to log a meal. Not being able to upload the information yourself sounds like a technical issue, and I’d really like to look into that for you. If you’re open to it, please reach out through the in-app support or email us (support@bornly.com) with the foods you tried to scan and any screenshots. This will help us fix the problem faster and add the missing items for you and other users. I truly appreciate you giving Gutly a try, and I hope we can turn this around so it becomes the time-saving tool you were expecting.

App is not working properly!:(

Please update soon

Response from developer

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and for letting us know about this issue. I’m really sorry the app isn’t working properly for you right now. Our team is actively investigating and working on improvements, and your feedback helps us prioritize fixes. If you’re open to it, please reach out through the in-app support or our support email with details about your device and what’s going wrong so we can look into it more closely. We appreciate your patience and support while we work on an update to improve your experience.

Needs a lot of work - could be great

I paid for a month to try this out properly. It looks nice, with good artwork and animations. The main issue is the food database - it’s limited to the point of being useless. The option to describe your food and an AI guesses calories, macros etc is really good though. Scanning a barcode works maybe half the time but the food quantity is always “100g”, which makes accuracy really difficult. There’s an option to manually add food to a database but I’ve never made it work - it wants photos, calories etc and just isn’t worth doing if I could make it work. There’s no option to make your own “favourite” foods that you can quickly add to your timeline, which is a blindingly obvious omission- I did suggest it to the devs but never heard back. Support and updates are lacking.
The mood entry is fairly limited- just stress and anxiety levels, which isn’t that useful. The symptom page is good but no option for custom symptoms that might be helpful. The main function of it spotting patterns in symptoms and food is limited due to the problems with accurately recording foods. Overall I’d give it a miss - go with a more popular app that has better dev support and frequent updates.

It’s hard to modify

I took a picture of my food and I didn’t recognize everything in there. I couldn’t modify the items or the quantity and then when I needed to go back to what I wrote down, it wasn’t on there.

Response from developer

Hi there. Sorry the app gave you trouble. You can edit items/ingredients, quantities, and revisit saved meals, so something clearly didn’t work as intended. We have no troubles testing it ourself, so please email me at mikkel@bornly.com with a quick note about your device and what happened, and we’ll sort it out right away. Thanks for letting us know and helping us improve!
