Doesn’t work with iPhone Pro Series

Update (5/9/2023)

I contacted OCLC customer service via email, and they have now produced a test version of the app so that the problems mentioned below are gone. I’ve tested it in test flight. It works. I am changing my rating back to a 4.

I’ve used Digby for years. It’s a helpful tool. But barcode scanning doesn’t work with the iPhone Pro series. The barcode never seems to come into focus. I’ve tested it with the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. It’s probably due to 1)the use of multiple cameras, and 2) LiDAR being used. I would love it if the app could be updated to work correctly. I miss being able to use the app.

It will not let you scan the barcode with the new iPhones.

Response from developer

Thanks for the feedback! Digby 3.3.0 (May 2023) addressed the barcode scanner focus problems when using the camera of an iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max. If you are using an iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max, it is highly recommended that you also update to at least iOS 16.0.2 to take advantage of camera software fixes provided by Apple. Please retry and let us know how many stars you think it is now.

Great!

Digby allowed me to mobilize my library student workers in a way I thought never possible. Love the app, 5/5!

June 2020 update makes this app useless

The Digby app has been an essential tool for our library especially as we conduct a comprehensive inventory of our materials. The most recent update makes the app very slow and crashes constantly. We were able to scan around 1000 item per hour and now my best staff member is only able to complete 400 or so. A 60% drop in efficiency is unacceptable. Please fix.

Update FAIL

The newest update was a failure. The app is incredibly slow. It freezes and must be shut down every few books. Bug fixes needed!
