About

diple is a reading room, not a feed. Open a book and start reading. No recommendations, streaks, social features, or anything else competing for your attention. The reader is deliberately quiet. Adjust the type size, margins, line spacing, paper tone and accent color until the page feels right. EPUBs, PDFs and saved articles all live in the same library, and diple always remembers exactly where you stopped. READ • Open EPUB and PDF files from Files, iCloud Drive, or the share sheet • Paste a link to turn an article into a clean reading view • Adjust type size, margins and line spacing • Choose from four paper tones, including true black • Read with Atkinson Hyperlegible or OpenDyslexic, included with the app • Pick from five accent themes, each with its own Home Screen icon MARK • Highlight any passage in one tap • Add a note directly beside the text that prompted it • Keep bookmarks for pages you want to return to • Jump through the chapter outline • Search the full text of a book REMEMBER Highlights in diple aren't a dead archive. Browse them by book or across your whole library. Turn a passage into a proper note with Markdown, links, tags, tasks and math. Search books, highlights and notes from one place. Second Read gives you a way back into what you've already read: the passages you marked, the notes you made, and the ideas worth seeing again. If you want, diple can also resurface one old highlight each day. YOURS Your library belongs to you. • No account and no sign-up • No developer-operated server • No ads • No tracking • No analytics SDKs • No reading history sent anywhere iCloud sync is optional and disabled by default. If you enable it, your library is stored only in your private iCloud account. The developer cannot access it. You can export your entire library — books, highlights and notes — as a single JSON file at any time. diple is completely free. No subscription, paid tier, or in-app purchases. It's also open source, so you don't have to take the privacy claims on trust. diple. Read. Mark. Remember.

diple has a second room now! Tap the circle in the corner of the bar and you're in Notes: a place to write that doesn't have to be about a book, unless you want it to be. NOTES • A page for today, and a journal of the days before it • Tasks gathers every unticked box from every note • Spaces you name yourself, pinned notes, and a Recently deleted that waits 30 days • Markdown styles itself as you type. Boxes tick, links open, formulas render in place • Start a note from the app icon, a widget, Control Center, the share sheet or Shortcuts READING • Highlights has its own tab. Filter by book, colour or tag, and collect a few passages into one note • Tag passages in your own words, and rename or merge tags later • The passage of the day shows others in your library that share its rarer words • Footnotes open at the foot of the page instead of taking you away from it • Tap a figure to see it at full size, look up a word from a selection, share a passage as an image • Links to PDFs arrive as PDFs, and formulas and tables in articles survive the import • Bring your highlights from Kindle or Readwise, or export the whole library as Markdown
