Quite unexpected and amazing to get a free Mac upgrade for an app that I purchased years ago on my iPhone. Thank you for supporting existing users in such a generous way! (Thatās the basis for my 5-start rating)
In terms of the Mac app, thereās quite a bit left to be improved, but maybe thatās still forthcoming. A few ideas to get started:
- Put Setting in the app menu, where they belong.
- Integrate with the system photos picker.
- add open and pick photo toolbar buttons instead of using an empty toolbar.

I bought this app and itās not working ! Iām afraid I got ripped off ! I canāt get help from Apple.

If you love to edit
It takes a deft hand and keen eye but this is one of the most useful editing apps available. Top notch. Get all the packs.
Opening photo crashes app
I loved using this app for adding that ādistressedā look to images. Unfortunately, when attempting to open a photo, the app (iPad Pro) immediately crashes. I have restarted, deleted and reinstalled, to no avail. Itās unfortunate that I paid for the service and am no longer able to use it. Hopefully a fix for this issue will be released soon, as my iPad is up to date, and so is the app.

02/04/2025 App has now started giving download errors on the bird packs which is really irritating. Iāve reinstalled etc but no joy :( cannot find anyone to talk to either - hello, hello?!! A great app but no development or updates. I've written to the dev regarding another issue but have received no response from her what so ever, so I don't hold out much hope of this getting fixed anytime soon! I've purchased both full versions and all expansion packs.

Not restoring.
New iPhone 16 Pro. Birds Like Snow, Spirit of the Trees are not restoring. Error message says thereās a problem with internet connection or storage, but both are fine.
Canāt download parts of the birds
I use Distressed FX and Distressed FX Plus for years. Lately, after I got a new iPhone I couldnāt download the white birds and the trees anymore. I already wrote to the creators, but nothing happened yet. Please please repair this
Masking no longer works
I love this app. It is my go to for enhancing my photos. However in the last several months I can no longer use the masking option.
I reached out to the company and they said they would look into it. I have never heard back.
Itās frustrating not being able to use it to its full capacity.

Creative delicate editing
This is a gorgeous app by a woman who loved her peacocks and art.

Upgraded from Distressed Fx about year ago - never looked back!
I also have Fx+ on my iPad - for better control ability.
You canāt apply this appās layer on all images - you need do some thinking in advance the types of effects you want or wish to apply - in short, Pre Visualisation!
So ā¦. ensure you āprepareā your images before bringing them into Fx+.
If you want to explore a new creative path in photography - try this app, and youāll find yourself on a road to imagination!
Highly recommended app for creative photography.

Cube icon doesnāt respond
When a picture is taken in portrait with iPhone camera and you proceed to Distress FX Plus window, the text āphoto can be masked using depth based data in this photoā doesnāt appear in upper left hand corner. The icon for the ācubeā is greyed out and doesnāt respond for text to appear nor does the arrow in the upper hand corner appear so you can flip the texture in back or front of the subject. I thought you might like to know of the problem so this issue can be addressed. I got in touch with the person who created a video explaining Distressed FX Plus and while the ācubeā worked for him when he produced the video, it no longer works for him on the iPhone 15. Distressed FX is a great app and am happy with the results I get but just thought you might want to be aware of this bug.

Hi, The cube icon is for "depth masking" which uses 3d data stored in portrait mode photos. If you load a photo taken in portrait mode you will find it works. Hope this helps.

Before I could put either of these into app and it saved as 16mp once edited which I can live with.
Now distressed fx plus churns out 3mp photos no use and unprintable.

Really amazing
But please fix the bugs. When you first download it, you will have to do it several times before all of it takes. Even if you paid for the full version. This gets frustrating when you have several devices.
Just started using it
Just started using it and itās a lovely simple app with lots of presets & once you figure out how you can adjust the level of the look it is great fun to use. It can add with some trial & error some nice artistic touches to a photo.
Horrible
If youāre not tech savvy then youāre not going to figure out how to use it. I paid 14 bucks to get this app and I canāt do anything with it.
