Way better than groupme
My fraternity started using Dive Chat instead of GroupMe and it is vastly better. The app runs so much smoother. It feels natural to use. Most of the chapter was skeptical at first because change is hard, but we all are very impressed!
A godsend for my friend group!
We were using basic iMessage for the longest and it was so annoying to create separate GCs for every topic (e.g. a single concert or stargazing group for repeat events). plus POLLS! we can finally have easy agreement/headcounts on dates that work for events!
I do wish there were some extra features:
* Hide events you have declined - seems like an easy filter. I don't want to see all the events I can't/don't want to go to on my Dive calendar. I also don't want those events to go onto my synced Apple calendar.
* Pin events to a specific channel - e.g. pending stargazing events could be pinned to the stargazing channel so they're easily found by members (similar to attachments being accessible from the chat's info).
* Chat on event pages - there's already a feed on events for responses and people can write comments there; I wish we could also converse on the event itself apart from those responses. It would help with figuring out logistics for an event with just attendees, rather than having all of that conversation in the larger chat.
* Share event administration - I've made events on behalf of others and wish I could "pass it over" (at least I haven't found a way to do it...) or share it with another person.
All around, love this app! It's been a big answer to my groupchat prayers 🤙

if you use groupme for anything, do yourself a favor and download this instead! better interface, so much easier to use and way better for events and messaging. highly recommend!!
