About
Wave your hands and play. DM Theremin turns the LiDAR scanner on your iPhone into a theremin: your right hand's distance from the phone sets the pitch and your left hand's sets the volume, just like the two antennas of the real instrument.
MADE FOR KIDS AND CURIOUS GROWN-UPS
Snap to a scale and every note you land on is in tune. Pentatonic is the place to start: children can make a tune in the first ten seconds. Major, minor and chromatic are one tap away, in any key.
A REAL THEREMIN IN FREE MODE
Turn snapping off for the classic gliding theremin sound. The big note name and cents meter show exactly how sharp or flat you are, so it doubles as intonation practice.
FIND THE NOTE
A game names a note and plays it. Find it in the air and hold it steady to score. Points for accuracy and speed, and a streak multiplier for getting several in a row.
SEE WHERE THE NOTES ARE
A ribbon shows every note of the scale and where your hand is. Switch it to centimetres to see exactly how far from the phone each note sits.
SOUNDS
Sine, triangle and a warm vox voice, with reverb.
MIDI OUT
Play synths and music apps with your hands. Send notes with pitch bend and expression to apps on your iPhone, to Bluetooth MIDI instruments, or to a Mac over your network.
Left-handed mode, adjustable range and sensitivity.
No account, no ads, no tracking. The camera is used only to find your hands; nothing is recorded or sent anywhere.
Stand the phone up sideways with the back camera facing you, step back about half a metre, and raise your hands.
Requires an iPhone with a LiDAR scanner: iPhone 12 Pro or any later Pro model.
