More trouble than it’s worth
After having tried and failed multiple times to sign up for the prescribing function, and never getting past the request for identification (when I attempted to upload my driver’s license photo the screen simply went white and reverted to the previous screen), I am giving up on this app. It’s so much trouble to simply sign up that I have a hard time imagining how it will make my practice easier or better.

Difficult to locate pharmacies
on the app. Has no location feature so if you type in CVS, for example, you will get stores in other states. Many prescriptions simply never go through.

Doesn’t work
Doesn’t work. Can’t verify number cause the number entry keyboard that pops up blocks the verify button and doesn’t go away.

Not for us
We run a non-profit clinic for low-income folks. We don’t have an EHR. DocUpdate looked like a good option, but after prescribing a medication, I have no way to document it in our paper chart other than hand-writing in a note = writing the prescription again. DocUpdate does not have a way to print out the prescription! When I pointed this out to them, they advised me to take a screenshot. But it doesn’t include the patient’s name. When I pointed out the shortcomings of this, I was told that DocUpdate does not integrate with EHRs. If I had an EHR, I wouldn’t be trying DocUpdate. Ridiculous! My advice, if you’re looking for e-prescribing for your paper medical records, look elsewhere. If you have an EHR, use it. For prescribing, I don’t see a reason for DocUpdate to exist, at least in the current version.

Dont do it
its been a week since i out all my important medical info in this app and i'm still getting a message that im unable to prescribe due to some verification problem. Contacted support 3 times, 2 times rapid response but no resolution. Dont put your sensitive info into this app!
Can’t prescribe narcotics
I got this app to write narcotic prescriptions that I can’t call in to the pharmacy. This doesn’t seem to have the ability to do that so I see no use for it. I can have my front desk just call in a regular Rx and not have to input all the patient info.

Love this eprescribe app. Free and easy to use. 4 stars because it would be nice to prescribe multiple Rx at once and sign and send verse sign and send after every medication.
Poor Ophthalmology coverage
Good for regular Rx but BAD for the various eye drops… won’t do ointments or any newer meds. Disappointing …
ID verification not working
I’ve been trying to verify my identity but whenever I click the link to do so, it just glitches and restarts. I just updated it and it still doesn’t work.

Bunch of social media spam
Heavily promoted on social media should be your first clue this is a bunch of spam garbage. Doesn’t use real eprescribe it uses some automated call in system that usually doesn’t work. Gives errors for most reputable pharmacies. To be clear it doesn’t work at all, just gives errors to send to any pharmacy.

Very convenient
Been using it for a year and a half and the interface is a little buggy, no better or worse than some EMRs but the prescription delivery never fails and it is incredibly convenient to not have to call the pharmacy all the time. Appreciate the devs for making this available!
Excellent electronic prescribing app
Easy to use app. I primarily use it to electronically prescribe. Developers are responsive to suggestions and requests to add drugs to the formulary.

Not available for healthcare professionals and providers is a downfall. Doctors and mids are not the only who can benefit from not having to wait for the 3rd party translator. Field providers and critical care transport don't have the luxury of 3rd party translators
