About

Flying with a dog starts with one question: does this airline take your dog in the cabin, and up to what weight. The next one is which carrier to bring. Dog Flight Guide answers both for 40+ airlines in Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East, without ten browser tabs. Airline info at a glance • Cabin, cargo, both, or no dogs at all • Maximum weight in the cabin and in the hold, carrier or kennel included • Carrier and kennel sizes in centimeters and inches, where the airline lists them • What it costs in the cabin and in the hold, as real prices • Breed restrictions, snub-nosed breeds included, and whether they apply in the cabin or the hold • How many dogs may share one carrier • Whether assistance dogs are accepted • A short summary of each airline's rules, plus tips for before you fly • A Dog-Friendly Score from 0 to 100, so two airlines can be compared in a second Find a carrier that fits • Popular cabin bags and hold crates with their outside dimensions in every size, plus the empty weight where the maker states it • Pick your airline and see which carriers fit its limits for the cabin or the hold • Each airline page shows the carriers that fit by their dimensions, where the airline states a size • Filter by soft bag, hard crate, backpack or semi-rigid • Links to the brand or the shop for prices and variants The check goes by the published dimensions. At the gate, the airline has the last word. Experiences from other dog owners Read how other dog owners got on with an airline or a carrier: star ratings, short reports and photos, searchable and filterable by stars. Experiences are written on dogflightguide.com and do not change the Dog-Friendly Score. It works without a connection The airline data and the carriers are downloaded once and kept on your phone. At the check-in desk, in the air, or abroad without roaming, everything is still there, including airlines you have never opened. Experiences you have read stay available too. Narrow it down to your flight Filter by region and by how your dog is allowed to travel, sort by score, popularity or name, search by airline name or IATA code, and star the airlines you are choosing between so they stay at the top of the list. Where the numbers come from Every policy links to the airline's own page and shows the date we last checked it. Policies change more often than you would think, which is why the source is always one tap away. Confirm with the airline before you book. English and German, both available offline. Built for iPhone and iPad. Dog Flight Guide is an independent project, started by a dog owner for dog owners. It is not affiliated with any airline, and no airline can pay for a better score.
