No frequency sliders, no numbers to guess at. HOW A DOG WHISTLE ACTUALLY WORKS Let's be straight with you, because most apps in this category aren't: a whistle tone has no built-in meaning to a dog. There is no "come here" frequency and no tone that calms a dog down. What a whistle gives you is a clear, consistent signal your dog can hear from a long way off and can tell apart from every other sound. You give it meaning. Play the signal, then reward the moment your dog responds. Do that enough times and the sound starts to mean something. StopDog gives you six signals distinct enough that a dog can learn a different meaning for each. The one exception is the Bark Interrupter. SIX SIGNALS • Bark Interrupter — a sharp 16 kHz burst that breaks focus mid-bark • Attention — a clean 9 kHz tone to teach as "look at me" • Recall — the classic two-burst pattern to train as "come" • Silent Signal — 19.5 kHz, above most adult hearing, but clear to your dog • Mealtime — a distinct signal to pair with dinner or treats • Outdoors — a warbling tone that carries, for training at distance TRAINING CLICKER A low-latency clicker for marker training, with a session count. Click the instant your dog does the right thing, then reward within a second or two. The click marks the behaviour; the treat pays for it. TOY SOUNDS A squeaky toy, a bell and a praise chime, synthesized on the fly. Useful for getting attention when a tone is too subtle — and best kept for when it matters, since novelty is what makes them work. BUILT TO BE SAFE AND HONEST Every signal stops itself automatically, so a tone is never left running at a dog. Frequencies above roughly 15 kHz are inaudible to most adults but easily heard by dogs — and by children and other pets, so keep bursts short and the volume sensible.
