What's New in Dottre
1.2
September 23, 2026
This version sees improvements to image rendering and file handling as well as some smaller bug fixes. • Authentic CMYK halftone: clean circular dots that carry the tone, from open highlights through to solid shadows • Save JPEG, HEIC or PNG straight to Photos • Export single channels on a transparent background. Carry the artwork on in whatever/wherever you work in next • DEPTH isolation for Portrait photos • More reliable saving of large and RAW photographs • A finer, better-spaced DOT dial: from a near-photographic MICRO to a bold poster ABSTRACT • DENSITY now brings black in as detail: fine dark lines and lettering print crisp, easing back into the dot pattern through heavier dots rather than a hard edge • The screen now prints right to the edge of the frame, with no fine seam along the border • A cleaner yellow plate: the faint banding and interference in pale areas is gone • Switching plates off now re-angles yellow to suit, so partial prints keep a proper rosette instead of clashing • Saved images now carry the same colour and vibrancy you see on screen
