So if down detector is being shut down, why is it still in the App Store?
So if this app is going away, why are we being told to download speed test, sign in and get an account, and then use that particular app to monitor favorite sites about outages and other things? I’m a little confused. Obviously this app is still here so apparently you must still be doing updates to it. I will say that you cannot favorite websites that you’re having problems with and as I’ve said in my last review, accessibility needs to be looked at. I would like an email address to discuss this if at all possible.

Please don’t shut it down!
Used this for years, very helpful information, but is claims to be shutting down (idk when but its been saying that for a while). The suggested Speedtest app is frustrating to use, and is just not user friendly like this classic Downdetector app is.

I had it at 5 stars before all this happened but we do not and I repeat DO NOT wanna be forced to use the terrible excuse for down detector on the speed test app, everything worked just fine on this app before please don’t shut it down

I really wish they wouldn’t shut down this app. Speedtest only allows 3 favorites and I constantly use this for work. So disappointing!

Not very happy with the acquisition of this from speed tester I’m going to basically have to pay for more but when I get here is enough for free. Thank you for the original owners of Downdetector for providing such a great service for many years.

Brilliant
I love this app. It’s truly brilliant and so useful. I’m sad it has become part of Ookla Speedtest even though I love and use that app even more. The visuals of the current app are far better than the view I now have through Speedtest
unnecessary and outrageous shutdown
this app is great i love it and i hate that i have to give it a 1 star review. but because some idiot at downdetector decided it would be a “great idea” to shut down the app to force us to go to a worse version of it on speedtest. i will be leaving a 1 star review until this issue is either fixed or they stop trying to shut down the app

Very useful app
I’ve found this app to be quite useful, and it’s a shame it’s being retired. I like that you can set more than three favorites.
Paywalled basic functionality coming soon to SpeedTest app!
The DownDetector app is shutting down, so that means using the SpeedTest app. Guess what, you can only have 3 favourites. That’s right, just three! Only sensible people care about 3 webpages… however, you’ll be able to soon pay to have more favourites in your list, unlike this app that all the basic functionality was free. Uninstalling this one once it gets fully shut down and uninstalling the SpeedTest app now, I’ll use another site that’s better for my networks speed tests from now on, thank you.

Move to Speedtest
So Speedtest is taking the dedicated Downdetector and wedging it into the Speedtest app. It’s not terrible but only 3 favorites? Please re-think this and make the favorites functional.
Maybe now Favorites will get fixed
Apparently DownDetector could never fix their Favorites from working correctly. Maybe Ookla & Speedtest will be able to.

This isn’t the official app, the real one is called speed test, it’s made by Ookla.
