What's New in Drift

1.2

May 11, 2026

Range Mode now handles uphill and downhill shots. Tap Angle to set a muzzle-up or muzzle-down inclination, see the cosine and elevation change, and keep that adjustment visible while it affects your solution. Rifle management is faster too: long-press a rifle on the home screen to delete it directly, with the same confirmation step as edit mode. Also: smoother keyboard handoff in Profile Creation and Add Load, clearer primary buttons, and polish across Range Mode, load management, and navigation.

User reviews

Easy peasy

App is easy to use. Haven’t verified yet but seems pretty accurate. Wish there were more features and inputs tho

Response from developer

Would love to chat about what features & inputs you’re looking for. I’m already working on a shooting angle input, should come out in the next version. Feel free to drop me a note at support@driftballistics.com

The best in the Business

Drift is by far the best platform I’ve used compared to other apps. Highly recommend for any new, intermediate, or experienced shooter. The range mode is fantastic and setting everything up is easy and quick. Great stuff

Works offline, finally

Solid app so far. My range has no cell service, but this app still works - adding new profiles. That alone has got me using this over Hornady / AB.

Clean and fast

Set up my .308 in about a minute. Matches AB Quantum to a tenth of a mil from what I can see so far. UI is a breath of fresh air compared to what's out there.

FAQ

What is Drift's primary function?

Drift is a precision ballistics calculator designed for long-range shooters. It helps users determine elevation and windage adjustments needed for accurate shots at extended distances.

How accurate is Drift's ballistics solver?

Drift uses an RK4 point-mass solver with G1 and G7 drag models. It claims to be validated within ±0.1 mil at 1,000 yards against JBM & AB, a standard that users can test themselves.

Does Drift require an internet connection to work?

No, Drift is built with an offline-first approach. It does not require an account or server dependency, meaning you can use its core features without an internet connection.

What kind of ammunition and rifle data does Drift support?

Drift supports over 1,300 bullets and 600 factory loads across priority calibers. It allows users to select their rifle and ammo for auto-population of ballistic data, with manual entry also available.

How does Drift handle atmospheric conditions?

Drift can automatically populate atmospheric data using your phone's sensors and WeatherKit. This ensures your ballistics calculations are adjusted for current environmental factors like temperature and pressure.

Is Drift suitable for handloaders?

Yes, handloaders have a dedicated path within Drift. You can select your bullet and enter your chrono'd muzzle velocity (MV) for precise calculations, or use manual entry as a fallback.

What is the age rating for Drift?

Drift has an age rating of 4+. This indicates it is suitable for a wide range of users, though its specific utility is for adult shooters.

How often is Drift updated?

The latest version of Drift is 1.2, which was last updated on May 11, 2026. This suggests a relatively active development cycle for the application.
