Does Not Work

Maybe once upon a time this app when it was supported, but that is certainly not the case now.
When finishing a journey no steps are deducted from your FitBit’s total, either in the app or on the device.

I can’t re-log in

I tried it and entered my account name but I had two accounts and did not enter my main one so I keep re-downloading but it won’t let me log in again…

Working great for me so far!

I just purchased a FitBit HR, and noticed after motorcycle rides my step count jumped dramatically. After doing some research, this app was mentioned so I have it a shot. So far so good! This morning when I got to work on the motorcycle, my step count had jumped by over 1500. After logging my drive and syncing my Fitbit it returned to normal. Thanks DriveBit!

No calories

You burn calories even when at rest, but using the drivebit app removes these from your total, making your TDEE lower than it should be. Not a problem for short drives but a really big problem for longer trips. Today I was in the car for 5 hours and couldn’t understand why my numbers were so low...when I removed the drivebit activity record and manually recorded the drive in fitbit the missing calories were restored, nearly 900 in total! Useless app.

Works (mostly) but could be better

Works well most of the time but can be a little sketchy. Also a little unfortunate that you have to keep it open on the screen the whole drive, drains my phone battery fairly fast.

FAQ

What does DriveBit Free do?

DriveBit Free logs your car trips as activities directly to your Fitbit account. This is designed to counteract the issue where Fitbit trackers might incorrectly log car journeys as steps, thus messing up your daily step count.

How does it keep my step count accurate?

By logging your car trips as a distinct activity, the app ensures that any steps mistakenly counted during your drive are overridden. This process helps maintain the integrity of your overall step count and fitness data.

Is this app free to use?

This is the free version of the app, which contains ads. It offers core functionality for logging car trips to Fitbit. A paid version is available with more fine-grained settings.

What devices is this app compatible with?

The app is designed to work with Fitbit trackers. You will need a Fitbit account and a compatible Fitbit device to utilize its features for syncing car trip activities.

When would I use this app?

You would use this app whenever you are about to start a car trip. By tapping 'Start' before you drive and 'Stop' when you arrive, you ensure that your Fitbit accurately reflects your day, free from the interference of logged car travel as steps.
