Skips through the queue rapidly
Works fine until your phone switches networks, or from WIFi to 5g and vice versa. Then, it will rapidly rip through your playlist without playing anything. Just song titles fleeting by. You then have to force quit the app or logout / in to your NAS. Like other Synology apps, it leaves me wanting.
Need Update
It has been over two years and there’s no update for the app and with the latest DSM version it is now breaking for units that are behind proxy or tunneling for security.
Be cautious upgrading to DSM 7.3 because the audio station app updates to 7.2.0.x and if you are either tunneling through Cloudflare or reverse proxy it will not let you authenticate and it will throw an error saying you’re unauthorized or your DSM version is 4.0 or below

Simple design, great to use
This is such a good app, i really like the design. At a time when design seems to be going backwards this keeps to simple user friendly design principles. The only things I'd like is to choose my own covers and shuffle all otherwise perfect.

Lots of Connection issues on ios26. But no patches yet.
Skipping play randomly
Synology team please help: iOS 26 here on iPhone 13 / 15 and got a song being played randomly skipped, sometime only in for a minute, sometime in the middle or 10-15 seconds before end. Otherwise working nicely
Quality app
The app is sometimes fiddly and laggy but it WORKS playing music from my NAS while still managing to be far less annoying than the Apple music app and any streaming service.
Keeps logging me out
This app has just gone down in quality. First they stopped playing aac and MP4 audio files. Now can’t even play other music without getting following message

Works decently enough to replace streaming music services.
Having some issues. Some songs with just randomly skip, even mid song. I have to log into the app frequently, and none of my login info is saved so I have to retype it all to sign in.
Why no CarPlay?
Pleasantly surprised.. It installed it and it just sort of worked! Seems like it’s possible to import playlists and do all the things easily if I wanted to..

This SUCKS!
I don’t understand why Synology doesn’t update or make good apps! If you want people to buy your NASes, why don’t you invest some money and make some awesome applications for our tablets and phones and computers?? this app is ridiculous, you click on the song you expect it to bring it up instead it adds it to some list, where is the list? So now I have a list of 50,000 songs that I clicked trying to play the song. It’s the dumbest app I’ve ever seen.

I don’t think Synology wants our business anymore
9 months without an update. And the music still cuts out to the next track for no reason at all. If you are in the market for a NAS, don’t make my mistake. Get another brand. Synology simply doesn’t want to be in the consumer market anymore.
Abandoned by Synology
Just needs an overhaul to bring it to 2025. So much is clunky or not intuitive.
When an update will be released?
The app gives you the ability to listen to your music stored in the NAS but it lacks of a lot of functionalities expected to have in 2025. App design is not good and lacks of smart playlists based on genre or mood. Please update

Barely works
It can connect via quickconnect and play your library but that’s about it. Features like Car Play integration do not work and say sign in on iPhone despite being signed in and the app open.
