Users beware!!! free is a trial version with limited features.
This is morally wrong and should not be allowed to happen especially since this app is only a front end for the Synology NAS the user owns at their home.
You will see a developer response that say something like “we are sorry you had this experience but we have to make money” which is very sneaky way of avoiding the core issue of this review. “Don’t hide the fact that this is a paid app that runs as a trial version when downloaded as free one.

Thank you for your feedback. DSLoad is fully usable without a subscription. The free version includes all core download management features, while only a few advanced features are reserved for Pro users. The subscription helps fund ongoing development, maintenance, and support. After more than 4 years of continuous updates, the app has reached its current level of quality thanks to users who choose to support the project. Of course, if the app does not meet your expectations, you can always use DSM’s web interface directly on your NAS. What I disagree with is the idea that this is “just a front-end.” Building, maintaining, updating, and supporting a polished native app over several years requires significant work and commitment, and I believe that effort deserves to be recognized. I hope you will reconsider the service in the future. Thomas
Failing search and disconnects
App disconnects very quickly compared to official DS apps which stay connected even when leaving the app briefly.
