Almost great
It is feature rich and seems to be completely free as advertised. I would rate it 5 stars but have come across one issue and one missing feature so far holding it back.
The triple n back mode that utilizes color, one of the colors is red and one is pink, among others like green, blue, purple, yellow. The red and pink are way too similar. I’m not sure how this made it in to be honest. The test is about memory, not discerning colors. Use white or orange or anything that isn’t so close.
Also, it should allow mixing and matching variables. Let me play triple mode but with position, audio, and shape, instead of color. Also, having color as the third mode as it stands makes it so color blind people are at a disadvantage. I see no benefit to having the modes locked as they are currently.
Love the app and looking forward to updates and improvements.

Thank you so much for this thoughtful and detailed review it genuinely means a lot, especially coming from someone who’s tried several other n-back apps. You’re absolutely right on both points. The red/pink similarity is a fair catch: memory training shouldn’t turn into a color-discrimination test, and it puts colorblind users at a disadvantage. I’ll be swapping those for more distinct, accessible colors. And your idea about mixing and matching modes is spot-on letting you build your own combinations (position + audio + shape, for example) instead of locking them makes the app far more flexible, and there’s really no good reason to keep them fixed. Apart from the social aspect it would greatly enhance the game if there was a daily game tracker for streaks for accomplishing certain daily goals

Good news on both fronts: Game Center is arriving in the very next update. You'll get global leaderboards, the ability to compare your stats with friends, an XP system with 15 ranks to climb, unlockable achievements, and a unified Brain Score that captures your overall cognitive progress in a single number. You also called the roadmap perfectly that same update introduces daily streak tracking (with a 7-day view so you never break your chain), plus Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets that surface your streak, rank and Brain Score at a glance to keep the daily habit going. Deeper daily goals are next on my list. It's built and already in review with Apple, so it should be live very soon.
