Easy, useful, no lag, well-made

Gets me recording musical ideas instantly — love the auto note tracking and lock screen shortcut! Best app of its kind I’ve tried. And not constantly nagging about upgrading.

Just Voice Memos With A Subscription

Not worth it, just record in your voice memos, having the chord visualizer is cool but that’s about all they have to offer

Notes are not accurate

Unfortunately the notes are not accurate. Eve is often says my Es are Cs.

Would be great otherwise.

They do need a lifetime purchase option too

I need help!

Hello! My name is Joseph I am a high school artist and have been using dubnote for a couple months now and it has been so helpful recording all of my bits and pieces of melodies I come up with and want to save later. I am very forgetful. I deleted the app for space but did not think too much of it because I saved everything through my iCloud account I thought but when I signed back in nothing saved. Any suggestions on how to retrieve my recordings?
If there’s no way I hope you can provide a reason to why there is an iCloud option to begin with if not o save songs.

You lost my trust

I bought the voice software on windows and got this as free trial. It seems okay and I intended to buy annual but you terminated my trial early and even though my subscription says I have time left into February your app has gone into free limited mode . I don’t use it so much but tonight it was quite important to have and it wasn’t available. I can’t have such unreliability so it’s NO from me

Response from developer

Hi, I'm very sorry your trial stopped working. We're not entirely sure why this might be as trial and subscription expiration is managed by apple - so normally even if you cancel a trial, access will remain until expiration. I'm very sorry this wasn't your experience. In terms of free vs. premium. There are no restrictions on recording, cloud syncing or sharing with collaborators. The main limit for free users is the number of recording you can analyse - which resets each week. You can analyse a recording any time after it is made or imported - so if you ever end up without audio analysis credit again, you can still make the recording and analyse it later when you are back in credit. I hope this helps and you'l give Dubnote another try. Thanks, team Dubnote

Songwriters need this

the best place to mood board song ideas!

Saved me hours tbh

Used this in band rehearsel last week and it literally saved me hours. Before I was dragging big recordings into Logic to cut up, now it just splits the session into parts and I can bounce single tracks to the others on imessage or airdrop. big time saver.

being early to an app this good feels like investing in bitcoin in 2011

very easy to record ideas and sort them, and a great alternative to voice memos bc this was clearly designed for musicians. also the ability to add cover images is rlly great, idk it sounds pretty irrelevant but in my head I sort songs by what I visualise when I hear them and honestly that helps a lot. already recommending to all my musician friends

great for cello practice

I’ve been using this to record my cello practice & I love how it shows the BPM and splits my pieces into sections. Makes it much easier to track progress day to day.

Kostenlos unnötig

Die App ist kostenlos leider unnötig und bringt einem nicht mehr als Sprachmemos von Apple. Kosten sind für Premium viel zu hoch, als Student möchte man sich das nicht leisten.

Disappointed 😢

Yes. I tried out Dubnote: Song & Idea Recorder app thinking it would be a good replacement for the simple Voice Memos App. I was left highly disappointed! 🤔 After testing, I see Dubnote doesn't offer anything worthy that sets it apart from Voice Memos or other FREE recording apps. I first downloaded it during the launch event when it was supposedly Free For Life. Although I was able to record a few parts for a song idea, the app kept crashing when I was trying the edit features so I uninstalled and reinstalled hoping this would fix my issue. Now, No more Free For Life! 🤯 Appears the playback feature is locked behind a subscription based paywall yielding popups to upgrade with every button push. I suggest using Voice Memos or similar for FREE. No response from support either. This company makes overpriced apps. 💰Their expensive Voice-to-Midi app is a FREE feature already available in most DAW’s. I may have felt different had I been able to run it through its intended purpose and dive deeper into the functionality, but I’m definitely not paying to test it out. Final Thought: 👎Dubnote is NOT worth the price. There are FREE options that offer the same features.

10 out of 15?

It’s a good app. Nice UI and very stable. Would be a keeper if the recording edit functions were more complete, e.g. the ability to delete parts of a recording.

Almost perfect

Loving this so far, especially the way it splits recordings automatically and lets me leave cọmments as I listen back. Just wish it had a little more editing functionality (like trimming or EQ maybe?). But for capturing and managing ideas, it’s been spot on.

Well thought out

Tons a great features that are relevant to any composer

NOT FREE!

EXTREMELY deceptive. Button says free but they charge you $25 and then no way to cancel.

Response from developer

Hi, I'm sorry if there was any confusion. We had a launch day offer where you could claim free premium access. Separate to that we also have an annual subscription that has a 1 week free trial - perhaps you selected this option. You can cancel at any time and you don't get charged until after the free trial period is over. So i can reassure you that no one gets charged $25 up front and you can cancel at any time without being charged during the trial period. Hope that helps. Best, Team Dubnote

App is broken; immediate loss of trust

This app doesn’t work. I can’t record any audio, so it’s basically useless.

Response from developer

Hi, Sorry you've found an issue with dubnote. We go through rigorous testing and regular updates and fixes, hopefully the problem you encountered is already fixed. But in case not if you could share more information about your issue we'd love the opportunity to fix it. Thanks! Team Dubnote dubnote@vochlea.com

Not as advertised

Was shown advertisements on Instagram that I could use my voice to transcribe my ideas, but this app doesn’t have any instructions on how to do so apparently it’s a separate application that you have to get through desktop so yeah.

Response from developer

Hi. Dubnote is a voice note taking app similar to voice memos but with a load of additional intelligence and features for musicians. For voice to instrumentation and transcription we also offer desktop software Dubler, which performs voice-to-MIDI. Sorry for any confusion.

My creative process actually feels under control now.

Making music can be chaotic—you get a flash of inspiration, record it, and then forget where you put it. Dubnote doesn’t just record your idea, it remembers it for you. It knows what instrument it is, sorts it, and makes it easy to come back and keep building. I feel like I finally have a system that works with my creativity, not against it.

I love seeing all my ideas in one place

The visual layout is so satisfying - waveforms, tags, and clips all laid out like creative timeline. It motivates me to keep going

App not as advertised

I got an Instagram ad for this app and thought it was something I could input my voice and the output would be any instrument I chose. Instead it’s a useless app that I can perform the same tasks on voice memos
