Duygu Adası is a Turkish-first educational support app for autistic children, children with special needs and children with delayed speech. Over 120 activities, fully offline.
RECOGNISE EMOTIONS
17 emotions in three tiers ordered by recognition difficulty: basic emotions, secondary emotions that need context, and social emotions that require seeing yourself through someone else's eyes. Face cards, "how would we feel?" scenarios and a matching game.
EASILY CONFUSED
Tired or bored? Worried or scared? Shy or embarrassed? Emotions whose facial expressions are closest are deliberately placed against each other. Discrimination practice only happens with close pairs.
WHAT IS MY BODY SAYING?
Reading emotion from another person's face and from your own body are different skills. A racing heart, a warm face, a knotted stomach — noticing the first sign of an emotion is a precondition for regulating it.
INTENSITY LADDER
A child who cannot tell "a little annoyed" from "furious" gives the strongest response to every discomfort. Ladders for anger, sadness, fear, happiness, tiredness, noise and asking for help.
SOCIAL STORIES
29 illustrated and narrated stories: the dentist, a shot, starting school, waiting your turn, a changed plan, screen time ending, crowded places, what to do if I get lost. The stories never guarantee an outcome; they are written with "usually" and "sometimes", because a promise that is not kept breaks trust.
TALK BOARD
160 symbols, built on core vocabulary. Pronouns, question words, verbs, describing words and place words come first; nouns come after. The reason: core words build sentences, nouns work in a single context only. Colours are coded by word type (Fitzgerald key). You can add symbols with your own photos.
THERAPIST AND PARENT REPORT
The PIN-protected panel answers four questions: which tier the child is at, which distinctions are still confused, whether they can read emotion from their own body, and whether the talk board is used to build sentences or only to label. First-try accuracy is tracked for every activity. Shareable as PDF.
