So Cool!

I can’t stop opening this app throughout the day, I just think it’s amazing! You can watch the earth in real time, choosing any area to look at, or you can choose the animated dataset wherein you get a glimpse of each day of the last week or so. I am not a scientist and I don’t know what half of the listed measurements mean, but watching the weather patterns and satellites in real time is so stinking cool.

Very Interesting App

Very good, really interesting, good to know Earth isn’t dead yet.

Load strip

Very good app, hope you just move loading strip from the center of the screen, it annoying during low internet speed, tanks

Amazing resource!

It’s amazing the data and information that NASA is able to share through this app! Love it!

Pretty good

I am doing a project on climate change and this definitely gave me a better picture in my brain although it does need an update because it totally blocked out Antarctica still try it, it’s really handy

FAQ

What does the Earth-Now app do?

The Earth-Now app visualizes recent global climate data collected by NASA's Earth Science satellites. It displays information on surface air temperature, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, ozone, water vapor, gravity, and sea level variations using interactive 3D Earth models and false-color maps.

What kind of climate data can I see in Earth-Now?

You can view data on surface air temperature, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, ozone, water vapor, as well as gravity and sea level variations. These datasets are presented using visually descriptive 'false color' maps with color-coded legends to indicate relative environmental conditions.

How do I interact with the 3D Earth model?

The 3D model of the Earth can be rotated with a single finger stroke. You can also zoom in and out by using a two-finger pinch gesture, allowing for detailed exploration of the visualized climate data.

Is Earth-Now free to use?

Yes, Earth-Now is a free application. It does not have any in-app purchases or advertisements, providing users with unrestricted access to NASA's climate data visualizations.

Who developed Earth-Now?

Earth-Now was developed by the Earth Science Communications and Visualization Technology Applications and Development Teams at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. NASA Headquarters also provided support for its creation.
