Not so Easy for tourists -
I downloaded Taipei Easy Wallet hoping to use it for easy payments on public transport and small vendors during my week in Taiwan. What a nightmare! The app forces you to register with a Taiwanese mobile number – no options for international numbers, Google Voice, or email-only signup. As a tourist without a local SIM, I couldn't even create an account.
This is a huge oversight in 2025. Tourism is what the Taiwanese Government is promoting, yet the app ignores the tourists completely and make it so unfriendly for visitors. We would like to see a better and easy to use version (like the Suica card in Japan) in 2026!

Discrimination
Great idea, but poor execution. Very dissapointed there is no English language option especially for a payment card. When you can go to banking machine and access your MegaBank account in English, why would I waste my time using YoYo card. Even phone companies (Chunghua Telecom) have an English option. In Hong Kong their Octopus card (same as Taiwan EasyCard) is fully functionable for English language speakers. In Canada our bank cards and Transit cards (Compass card in Vancouver) is fully functionable in multiple languages. In order to use YoYo (EasyCard), you must know written Chinese. I can’t even link to my MegaBank Card. Lots of ex-pats living in Taiwan and lots of foreign spouses. Big missed opportunity.

Advise to Developer
Please add English to this app! It would make this app much better and accessible for foreigners living in Taiwan.
No English Option
This app is either fully in Chinese or the english language setting is burried deep in the app. Please add English as an App language option so that non-chinese speaking ppl can use the app.
太不好用了！
昨晚安裝了連了銀行卡，可是付款時又不讓我們用。太笨了！ installed the app last night, added bank card but today it would’t let me use it to pay for merchandise. It was pointless to install the app only to add another layer of inconvenience - stupid! Deleted the app today. 👽
Setup is not Easy
Is not easy to set up, takes so long and complicated. You need all your document on hands or else you can’t verify to pay within 5 minutes.

I agree with AlohaEmma808: can you make this into English and let the non-Chinese Speakers use the American phone number??? I only come to Taiwan and my cousin will give us three Easy Cards. I hope you update this app so Non-Chinese speakers can use this.

Meaningless security measure makes it impossible to use
For no reason I got locked out of the system and unable to reset. The customer service was no help at all. The only solution is to contact the it directly and the system requires 2-3 days to verify the log in. It’s likely the security for personal data is non-existent, therefore require human verification.

NFC never get to work
Every time I try to use the NFC reader to check my balance, it never get to work. An error always pops out no matter how I adjust my phone and the yoyo card.
Multiple Languages
The app should support multiple languages for foreign visitors and residents. With the globalization in business it should be a standard for every application to support at least English.
