Eaves is a hanging curtain of beads, and a roof to hang it from. Drag a finger through the strands. The beads collide — really collide, in a physics simulation running at 120 frames a second — and every collision rings a note. Nothing here is a recording. Each tone is made the instant two beads touch, pitched by where they met and how hard, so no two passes through the curtain sound alike. EIGHTEEN SCENES Brass under a temple eave. Bamboo in a grove. Crystal in the snow, glass at dusk, clay at noon. Each scene brings its own roof, its own bead material, its own tuning, and its own weather — rain, crickets, a stream, wind, embers, or a low drone. DAY AND NIGHT Tap once and the whole scene crosses over two and a half seconds: the sky, the ink-wash mountains behind the strands, the light on the beads. Gulls pass by day.
