Ecru: Wardrobe

Ecru catalogues what you own, builds outfits from it, and remembers what you wore. Every time it says two things go together, it tells you why — in one sentence. Everything happens on your iPhone. No account, no cloud, no analytics, no AI model. WHAT IT DOES • Photograph a piece and Ecru finds where the garment ends, then measures the colour inside that edge. Wrong colour? Take the eyedropper or pick a shade from the palette — your choice sticks for good. • Outfits appear on their own. Add an item and the suggestions top themselves up, best first. Or build one yourself across six slots: top, second top, bottom, shoes, outerwear, accessory. • Every score opens. It names what is off about a piece and which of the three axes cost the most points — temperature, saturation or lightness. • Twelve colour types in six questions, with a confidence figure and the runner-up type when you sit on a border. Disagree? Pick your type by hand and the choice sticks. • The fitting room answers the shop question: do you already have anything to wear this with? It averages the five best pairs, not the single luckiest one. • The calendar remembers what you wore and when. WHY THERE IS NO AI IN HERE Colour is an average over pixels. The score is a formula over colour, occasion, season and pattern. Nothing is recognised and nothing is trained on you — which is exactly why every score can show its working. A neural network can offer you 92% and nothing more. WHAT IT DOESN'T DO • It won't recognise your clothes: you pick the category and the pattern from a list. • It won't judge cut, fit or size. Whether something suits your shape is still your call. • There is no backup. No cloud means nothing to restore and nothing to move to a new phone. • The first evening is work: forty pieces is about an hour. It speeds up as you go. PRIVACY Your wardrobe, your photographs and your outfits live in a database on your phone and are never sent anywhere. No sign-up, no email, no password, no profile on a server. Every feature works in airplane mode. One honest exception: the app checks for its own updates when it starts, and that request carries nothing about you. Free.
