Fun app to play around - but there several flaws
I really enjoy playing around with the video effects in this app. Here is my biggest complaint though - in order to get access to all the options, I paid for the Pro version on my previous phone. But now on my new phone, there is no option for me to ‘Restore Purchase’ to get those features back.
But it’s only $2.99, so I figured I’d just pay for it again (despite feeling like I’m being scammed into paying again), but that doesn’t work either. When I hit the upgrade button, it just shows a loading icon that never goes anywhere to complete the process. Oh well, I guess I’m stuck with the basic version.

Cool effects, kind of glitchy
The app is nice and cheap. The effects are great but get pretty old fast. More content would be cool. The tracking is a bit glitchy and buggy on iPhone 12 pro max, making video creations pretty much unusable.
Saving Video Not Easy
The trippy lidar effects in Effectron app are truly fantastic and fun to play with but cannot be saved directly to videos in Photos app without using (Apple) screen recorder and some editing.
App description fails to disclose that you need to have one of two specific social media accounts in order to save any videos you make. I bought the only upgrade option and love the effects.
After making your video, it will automatically replay continuously in loop mode while three buttons appear. These let you save to Instagram, Twitter or delete. But here’s the workaround to save video clips directly to your iPhone:
During the loop auto-replay you can activate your (Apple) screen shot recorder. This will unfortunately record the Effectron app buttons too. Stop the screen recording process when ready. Find the screen recording in your Photos app. Hit ‘edit’. Crop away the buttons from Effectron app so you keep only the essential video. Now it’s been chopped to a nonstandard size. But no biggie. Trim video start and end points. This edit takes only a few minutes.
I give Effectron just one star because it should have a direct save option to cam roll. And I did not find any audio capability. Once they add those fundamentals, it will be more useful and easily worth five stars if the price is still decent.

Very generous to offer this up for free. It’s a lot of fun and almost shows real-time ground contours which is what I’m ultimately looking for.
