Effekt is an app that combines an image editor with a visual toy to generate ultra-high-resolution artwork. It uses GPU acceleration to create dynamic visual effects and allows users to customize them with various tools. You can then export your creations as high-quality still images or animated videos.
Key features include GPU-accelerated artwork generation, live wallpaper creation, over 30 color schemes, and a variety of image editing tools like exposure, saturation, and contrast. It also offers less common tools such as stair width and kaleidoscope effects. High-resolution export options for both still images and animated videos are also included.
The app itself is free to download and use. However, it offers in-app purchases, suggesting that certain features, effects, or export options might require a purchase to unlock.
The app is built using Apple's Metal framework and native Swift, indicating it is designed for iOS devices. It supports high-resolution exports tailored for Apple displays like the Studio Display and XDR Display, as well as the Apple Watch.
Common use cases include creating personalized live wallpapers for your phone, generating unique digital art for social media or personal projects, and producing high-quality printable art with resolutions up to 8000x8000 pixels. It's also useful for experimenting with visual effects and creating short, high-frame-rate animations.
