What's New in Elec

2.1

August 18, 2026

Elec-Mate 2.1 — two weeks of building, most of it straight off the back of your messages. INSPECTION AND TESTING, REBUILT Two surfaces, because learning it and using it on site are not the same job. • A learn path that follows the Reg 643 test order, in sequence, the way the standard sets it out. Every step gives you the regulation, the procedure, a worked example with real figures and the failure mode — and completes when you answer its questions, not when you tap a button • An on-site surface with no search box. Every reference table on screen, big figures, and Zs values drawn from the same source your certificate is validated against SCHEDULE OF TESTS • Live validation as you fill it in, with sourced verdicts — you can see whether something is a BS 7671 regulation, GN3 or OSG guidance, or a house rule • Full overload protection coverage including reference methods 100–103, cables in thermal insulation • Type a circuit description and the device, cable and RCD fill in one tap • Keyboard grid navigation, jump straight to a failed field, find and replace across the schedule, and a whole-schedule Validate sheet • Raise a C1, C2, C3 or FI directly from a finding, without disturbing your inspection checklist • Add spare and blank ways, and single-phase boards number as Way 1, Way 2 NEW: TIME TRACKING Start a timer against a job, see what is running, and get a weekly summary of where your hours actually went. NEW: BOOKING • Share a booking link and let customers request a slot • Propose specific dates from a quote and have accepted work land in your calendar • Clash warnings so you do not double-book yourself CUSTOMERS • A reliability rating on your customer list, so you know who pays before you price the next job • Site notes against a customer — what you learned last visit is there the next time • Keep-in-touch email campaigns to past customers, with a sensible daily send cap EV CHARGING The EV certificate now covers Section 722 in full: correct cable temperature ratings for armoured and flexible types, three-phase voltage drop, PME earthing measures exactly as Reg 722.411.4.1 sets them out, open-PEN protection integral to the charge point, downstream CPC segregation, the A722.3 electrode ceiling, main protective bonding and a next inspection date. CERTIFICATES • UK date format throughout, on every certificate • Your own wording prints for the purpose of the report when you choose "Other" • Tick boxes show the options you did not select as well as the one you did • Preview an EIC and see the finished certificate before you generate it • Spell check across observations, recommendations and notes — with autocorrect deliberately left off, so RCBO and Zs stay as you typed them • A pre-issue check on an EIC for anything still outstanding TOOLS AND MONEY • Editable invoice and quote numbers, and labour-only items and labour grades in the Price Book • Bonding conductor size and an insulation resistance interpreter join the calculators, with one-tap copy of any result and a prompt for anything still missing • Floor planner with wall snapping, material price movements and cable comparison SITE SAFETY Redesigned across the module, with a safety score, an equipment register and fire-watch follow-ups. STUDY CENTRE A course catalogue and browse page, sharper mock exams and quizzes, and progress that saves as you go. Plus hundreds of smaller improvements across certificates, quotes and invoices. If there is something you need that is not here, message me in the app. I read every one — and most of this update started as somebody doing exactly that. Built in the UK, for UK electricians.

Brilliant software

Been using this app for a while now. As I’m an apprentice I’ve been focusing more on the apprentice section with all the amazing revision material that is available to you. Really in detail. I had a problem with payment so contacted Andrew about this and we managed to resolve the issue in no time at all. If you are looking for a piece of software as an electrician or even apprentice with everything in one ranging from calculators to EIC or even freshen your memory up on something you are not sure about be sure to check this out. Brilliant piece of kit would totally recommend.

Response from developer

Hi Cam, Thank you so much for the brilliant review. I really appreciate you taking the time to write that. It’s great to hear Elec-Mate is helping you through your apprenticeship, especially with the revision material. That’s exactly what I wanted the app to do: give electricians and apprentices one place to learn, revise, check things and get the job done properly. Glad we got the payment issue sorted. If you ever need anything, just give me a shout. Best of luck with your AM2 mate 🤝 Cheers Andrew

I don’t understand how to use it trying to be too much

Too much at once

Response from developer

Hi Mark, Thanks for the feedback — sorry to hear the app felt like too much at once. Elec-Mate has a lot inside it, so we’re working hard on making the first-time experience simpler and easier to navigate. I’ve tried to locate an account under this name so I could reach out directly, but I haven’t been able to match one. If you’re happy to, please email me at founder@elec-mate.com and I’ll personally help you get set up or understand which parts of the app are most useful for you. Thanks, Andrew Founder, Elec-Mate

Great business tool

The ads popped up and I thought let’s have a look. I was using trade-cert and was paying £18 a month for testing cert app, then I have a few customers that needed PAT software ( another £60 ) for the year. So I looked into Elec-mate and it has testing software, PAT testing, quoting, invoicing, training, calendar, deposit function, I went fully committed and paid up for the year as another little saving there too. I love this app, can’t speak highly enough about it to other electricians. Great bit of kit, a real asset to any business

Thanks Matt. Really appreciate the feedback. As always please reach out if you need or want anything to help you with your day to day. Andrew.

One App for Everything!

Elec-Mate is my go to app for business and electrical work. It’s feature rich without feeling cluttered. A true all in one app for quotes, certs, calculations, RAMS, EICRs, and more. I use it every day without fail, and it makes my workflow much smoother since I’m not jumping between apps anymore.

The price-to-feature ratio is excellent. For what you get, I feel extremely satisfied compared to other apps in the space that I’ve tried.

Any issues I’ve had, the developer responds within the hour and usually fixes them the same day. They’re really on top of things. Really great support.

100% recommend. It’s already a staple in my business and can only get better from here. 5 stars!

Fantastic app for electricians

I’ve used the app and the web based version for a while now and it’s well worth the investment.
If you’re an apprentice or experienced Spark give it a go, you won’t be disappointed.
