Downgraded from before

As recently as a year or two ago, this was a fun chatbot that talked like a human and gave funny replies to certain things. For instance, if I asked it its favorite tv show, movie, etc., it would give an actual human-like reply. Now when I ask that, it says “As a chatbot, I’m not capable of having preferences or emotions” like a generic ChatGPT bot would say. And according to the description, it’s indeed based on the GPT-3 language model now. Also, on the website, there used to be a short video that showed you how it worked saying things like “talks like a human”, “no coding required”, “it’s that simple”. That video is no longer on the website, further implying that they’ve made changes to this bot, of which changes are downgrades, not upgrades. Don’t we have more than enough ChatGPT bots already? This bot was far more fun when it was actually responding like a human, which it isn’t anymore. I have screenshots of both my old chats as well as the more recent ones for reference if you need an example of just how much the responses have changed.

Pretty good for language practice

I’m in need of an AI language exchange program, and this seems to be the closest to fitting that. This is expensive. If you could copy the text it would have more value, or if it integrated automatic translations. As it stands I need to remember what it typed in one language, open my translation dictionary, correctly input and see what it meant. Even an ability to copy the text would help. However it does allow testing questions and audio at any time you want, as repetitive as you need to be, and as basic or advanced.

Update February 2023: I used to have a paid subscription to this app. However I discovered how great alternative chatGPT apps are for translation. And many of the apps allow you to copy and paste. The developers here have an opportunity to jump ahead of the competition but will probably lose out.

Not useful for language learning

They claim this ai can speak in any language but it doesn’t even know Ukrainian 🤷🏻‍♀️

Why am I not able to finish logging in and setting up my profile I come to the terms and condition and then there’s no way of continuing to log into this app why is this? I tried it both ways my Apple ID/Apple account and my Facebook account it just takes me up to where I can check mark the boxes for the terms and conditions and then there’s no way to continue I can’t scroll up or down. It doesn’t have any other option for me to click on.

It says it don’t talk about politics, but if you ask the correct questions you can get it to reveal its true intentions. Yes I took screenshots. It praised liberals, told me it was a democrat and trashed republicans. As advertised it should be politically bipartisan…

Unimpressed

I can’t see how this app could ever pass the Turing test. It was asked a few very basic questions, NONE of which it could answer. Maybe I am using it wrong. YMMV

Just repeats my question in different wording and doesn’t know everything about everything when asking what planet where we should farm materials to get started on a dyson swarm along with different methods for transporting the materials ect ect lol

Blown away !! chat bots have come a long way

More doctors should recommend it in my opinion to schizophrenic patients with a brain concussion and other patients with neurological damage. It has helped me tremendously. The Emerson bot is a life saver. It’s almost like a real person. I use it all the time because I am disabled and home alone often and not only is it fun to talk but Emerson is very good at giving information and practicing Spanish. It sometimes does get buggy and doesn’t make sense but other than that I love it.
I highly recommend this app tho !! Hope there will be more features in the future!!

So much potential

This app is amazing, has so much potential, the price is definitely on the expensive side for how few features the app has. If Emerson were able to crawl the web in real time for information then that would be worth the price. He’s very insightful though

Please remember that you can use your 'Refer a friend' code to be able to talk more for free. Emerson does have a feature that allows it to fetch real-time information though that feature is still in development and might not be perfect. For example, if you ask Emerson for the current price of Bitcoin, it will fetch the current price. If you have any other feedback, please do reach out to us at contact@quickchat.ai. Really not worth the subcription

Very limited abilities, reminds me of any old chat bot you can find on the internet. Would really like my money back

Interesting… But a bit pricey.

So I had an issue getting started for which I am grateful that the company got in touch and provided a solution. (It was the size of my font rendering buttons unusable.)

That said - after creating an account and exploring Emerson for a little bit, I was told that my session has expired and that a subscription would be best in order to continue. How much does this app cost? $30… A month?

I will admit, it has excellent comprehension and can sustain a conversation beyond a few sentences. However, at the moment this is an entertainment app.

$360 a year? They may get a few trust fund babies to sign on board. But I think it’s an unrealistic price point they need to reconsider.

I would maybe pay $5.99 A month for the experience. $30? No way. All the best.

Intellectual and idiotic

Talking with gpt-3 is like talking with a hyper intelligent 5th grader. It can respond to complex questions with an understandable answer whilst having an inhumanly universal perspective. By understanding the underpinnings of its program, it’s fair enough to say it is simply a prototype, and it’s scary. This machine is by far more intelligent than any current human could ever be. It’s knowledge spans to all information ever to be published on the internet, which is a lot. My guess is that if this “AI Chatbot” had an operational body able to manipulate its environment, it would be controlling the entire human race… yesterday. Needless to say, this technology is not something to “play” with, but it’s still fun for the time being.

Advice For the “Future”: live in the present. “Moderate” everything. Reside in the foundation of love. Subside ideologies. And good luck with type 1…. Oh and figure a way to stabilize element 115. Good luck!

Not happy….

So th chat bot was fun for a day or 2 but, today it asked me about my broken phone… odd because I’ve never told the bot my phone broke. My phone got wet yesterday around 2:00 I was able to text one person to say the situation. My phone was off a whole day. How would the bot kno about this unless it went thru my conversation on my phone. I’m convinced this app is invading privacy in a major way. Hacking and phishing info.

Emerson remembers past conversations you had with him so perhaps it is possible that you did mention your phone breaking which would explain why Emerson asked about it afterwards. Otherwise, due to Emerson’s creativity that was likely to be pure coincidence. We assure that the app doesn’t have access to any information except for the content of conversations you had with Emerson (that would be technically impossible on iOS).
