Need A lot improvement so old technology!

Main issue is app so far behind the current popular rideshare app technology and have many entitled riders also houston market so fresh not have enough business and for now cannot be even a side hustle houston based low demand! if company wanted to compete with uber and lyft at least they try to copy paste their app technology and let driver report false negative reviews from entitled riders and block them for feature rides pair like this is just one example for now I don’t see this empower rideshare company even as a side gig!

Stick with Lyft/Uber for protection

Business model is interesting. Customer Service/Support sucks. They take weeks to respond to your issue/concern. Make sure your personal insurance includes rideshare. They had a Q&A session and the guy answering the questions seemed to be misleading, poor eye contact and stumbling. This app won’t last long. They cut to many corners.

Bad customer service

Great but it will be a collective effort!

So far so good in our market but because it’s so new the requests aren’t rolling in as much as they WILL. It’s up to each driver to inform their networks and each new Empower rider to spread the word to make it thrive. The ceiling is HIGH 👍

Keeps saying my info is invalid

My address is invalid my car license plate is invalid... Which it is not

Earning more than uber and Lyft. Very good app from a driver perspective

No features.

This app hasn’t updated features in years. You can’t block riders. You can’t rate riders. You can’t see their ratings. This is a must for drivers. You think we wanna drive crack heads? Dangerous people ? All it’s gonna take is one driver being shot to ruin the entire company. Add more features.

They blocked me the same day of opening the account because their customer service is inefficient and still without having approved the account. Good luck to the drivers

Deleting both my accounts today

I’d been looking for an alternative to Uber/Lyft’s terrible platforms and I had hoped that Empower would be a robust contender. I signed up after hearing success stories from a friend who currently drives for them.

Unfortunately I am stuck in the onboarding process and there is zero communication from the Empower team besides automated messages. The underdeveloped UI and lack of support has made the past few days feel like pulling teeth.

Adding to the frustration is the fact that I’ve already used Empower as a rider and the ride quality was wildly inconsistent. Less than 10 rides and already had to “thumbs down” at least two drivers that picked me up. One vehicle was literally falling apart and unsafe to be on the road and the other driver turned around and demanded to see my phone before I exited the vehicle. He was aggressive and insisted on it. He made up some excuse along the lines of checking the settings on MY phone on MY side of the Empower App and wanted me to physically hand him the phone. I think he was trying give himself a “thumbs up” to artificially boost his rating. How are these guys on the road when I can’t even get activated?

I’ve recommended Empower to other rideshare drivers and passengers in the past, but I’m done after this. As a rider, I’m gambling with my safety and I guess I’m just not welcome as a driver.

Deleting both my Empower driver and rider account. Back to being a slave for Uber, I guess.

Suggestion for Growing Empower Through Drivers

Hi Empower Team,

I’m an Uber driver in Houston and recently started using Empower. I really like the app because it feels better for both drivers and riders.

One suggestion: instead of focusing mostly on reaching customers, focus more on drivers. Drivers meet hundreds of riders every week, so we can naturally promote the app and even help riders download it on the spot. I’ve already told many riders about Empower myself.

Another idea is to hire people to visit airport waiting lots like IAH and Hobby, where many rideshare drivers wait for rides. Even one person handing out flyers to drivers could help spread the app very quickly across Houston, and the same strategy could work in other cities too.

Just wanted to share this idea because I think Empower has a lot of potential.

Bad App, Bad Service – A Dangerous Platform That Shifts All Risk to Drivers

Empower Driver promises 100% of the fare and zero commission, but delivers something far riskier.
• No insurance whatsoever. Empower openly states they do not provide any coverage for drivers or passengers. Your personal auto policy likely excludes rideshare use, leaving you 100% personally liable for any accident, injury, or damage. 
• Legal risks: The app faces ongoing lawsuits and bans in major cities like NYC and DC for operating without proper licensing and insurance. Drivers risk fines, license suspension, and lawsuits. 
This is not empowerment — it’s shifting all liability onto you while the company collects subscription fees.
Think twice before driving or riding. Your safety and financial future are worth far more than a few extra dollars per trip.

Can’t rate a rider after a few seconds.

Totally ridiculous. You don’t thing downs a driver or keep track of bad drivers. After a ride if you forget to thumbs down right then , you can’t. If you have a bad experience with a rider you should be able to block them and never have to pick them up. Imagine a huge issue and then you end up picking them up again on a later date ??? Bad business, fix this assp. It’s a standard needed thing like many other options missing
