Fix Account
Every time I log into the app, which is nearly every day, I have to fix my credit union account. Otherwise, it is an adequate app.
Attention Personal Capital Fans!
If you liked the old personal capital tool prior to money hungry Empower ruining the experience give Monarch a try. Monarch offers a great experience similar to the personal capital app I once loved. Yes you have to pay a small annual fee, but it beats all the annoying pops from empower trying to sell you stuff. Give Monarch a try, you won’t regret it!

Brainless management
Finally figured it out. Had to go to their website, login w my email and reset password. So much busy work! All this to show me how incompetent this company is! I would never use this low level !
Stopped letting me login
Beyond frustrating - I moved over to Empower after Mint went away, and then Empower decided to change their app, and it’s been impossible to login. It sends me to download another Empower app that doesn’t work. It’s been months of this.
Totally doesn’t work
I used to enjoy using this app but they changed to a new app and now I cannot access either of them. Totally garbage user experience.
Too good to last
Looks like Empower finally killed the app. Just out of nowhere. Now this nor the new app works. Well done… well done.
App doesn’t work
App redirects you to use a different Empower app. UI is poor when trying to look at multiple portfolios.
Terrible management and consolidation
Unnecessarily made it more difficult for users to manage their logins. This app now forwards me to the retirement app. So if I want to access my personal capital account, I have to log out of my retirement account. No way to unify those two accounts even though it’s now one app. Terrible experience!

App data slowly stops tracking over time
It started with one financial organization and now another. It won’t update data. It doesn’t even allow me to resync. There is no support in the app. Not sure how to fix. I guess I’ll have to start looking for a new solution. It was great when it worked.
The recent upgrade make the app literally unusable.
Signing in, I get an error message and cannot get beyond it. “Contact a representative” with no contact information. I have used this app for over 10 years (when it was Personal Capital).
Trouble accessing account
Ever since they switched apps I can never login to my dashboard. I was really enjoying using this dashboard and now I’d just love if I could access the account to just delete it. It’s been a nightmare. Every time I go to login on this app I get directed to the new one that says I have no account 🤦♀️

Invalid input?
I would really like to start using this app but whenever I input my information to sign up, I receive the msg “invalid input”. However, you get no clue as to which field has the invalid input. I followed all of the instructions to fill in the sign up information and still cannot get past the “invalid input” msg.
Does anyone know what could be causing the “invalid input” msg?

Amazing App! Extremely Useful - Could Improve Further
SO happy I found this app! I didn't think there would be a financial app with everything I was looking for, but this is the one! I tried Mint, Chase (my bank) Marcus and more!
Strengths:
Design (Dark mode, easy to read graphics).
Historical data (can track spending/earning history easily)
Easy to read net worth break down, easy to view historical checking/saving account data
Super useful online feature indicating amount of money contributed to investment accounts and amount of money made in each.
I love the app and would say it is a 5/5, I definitely think there are aspects to improve moving forward to make it a 6/5.
I think a key strength of any budgeting app is accuracy. If the data isn't accurate its useless. If I don't open the app for several days, credit card or checking account info may appear on the "wrong" day on the graph of said account. The transaction date is correct when looking at transactions, and even correct in the cash flow timeline, however incorrect on the net worth/individual accounts timeline. It would be nice for each account/net worth timelines (historical charts) to reflect the actual transaction date, and not the date that the app refreshed the account. More so because the cash flow tab does this correctly and presumably uses actual transaction dates for the time chart and not when accounts were refreshed in the app. The capital one card needs to be reset each time to be updated, but transactions don't fall into the correct date on the timeline for capital one, only in the cash flow timeline do transactions occur on the correct date. *My bank account which does refresh on it's own seems to have put a transaction in the correct place on the timeline, without me needing to open the app on that day. Maybe the issue is only with capital one which I need to manually refresh each time. If that is the case, then I think this is a non-issue as accounts that auto-refresh accurately represent transactions.
There should be more room for customization adjustments. For example - venmo/zelle payments/earnings. I had one month where I sent over $8000 through zelle. These were classified as "transfers". I would like to classify these as payments/spending in order to see it in the cash flow and budget history. My checking account decreased significantly but it does not show in the cash flow. What I am really looking for, is an option to classify anything with a certain name (zelle) into a specific category (other income/expenses) based on if its spending or income. In other words, it can be cumbersome to go back and check box by box historic venmo payments, then labeling them expenses each month (also easy to make a mistake). Should be an easy feature to select ALL venmo transactions (in one click) and classify them as either payment or income based on if they’re spent/received. ALSO, this should not only work retroactively, but for the future (need an automated feature)!!! Would be great if all future venmo payments were classified as payment or income based on whether money was earned or spent without needing to go and manually correct it each month. A "select all" button for transaction names and an automated feature to do this automatically in the future would be huge! *I waited a couple of days, and venmo income was accurately classified as "other income" without me needing to manually correct it. Maybe this feature is already in place, since I changed all previous transactions But still, it would be great if it could be made clear that this is a feature and for there to be an easy option to all incomes with a certain name so that they automatically reclassify in the future.
Would love a widget!! Would be great if it had different options/types (net worth/cash flow) so you could see your finances at a glance.
The budget widget in the notification center is great! Would absolutely love a cash flow one to see incomes as well. Personally, I'd love a table of cash flows for the past 3 months, the way you can custom build one
One of the great computer features - Investment Performance - shows cash flow (into each investment account) and the balance of each account. This clearly lays our your gains/losses. Personally I find this super useful and better than what most brokerages. BUT, would love to view this on the phone app. Simple gains/losses info for the portfolio would be great to view on the phone, as well as historical performance (graphically) of each account.
Would love a pie chart breaking down net/assets (by Investments/Checking etc.).
Have the computer budget show a breakdown year by year like on the phone if you click it.
Have the phone budget historical graph show data that reflects cash flow data. They don't match, but the historical budget data does not even match budget data month by month when I look at it. Not sure why they don't, but at least all budget expenses should match I assume. (Historical budget graph shows x for November spending, while last months "November" budget shows x-20) in regular budget view
For the yearly cash flow graph, you should be able to click on each month to see expenses and income (when looking at only expenses or income you can not see amount for individual months. Would love an easy option to see the past 3 months of cash flow in bar chart form (same as you do in custom). Would love specific numbers showing exact income/spending each month.
Pictures of banks next to the account on the net worth page, slight design improvements on the app homepage for a cleaner look for the accounts + pie chart of the account types.
Get a mac app.
When you scroll over accounts, it should show the amount change per day, as well as the amount in the account that day.
Upgrade bill payments section similar to Mint (show which bills paid and when). Have a notification for Bill Payment & place in app to check credit card bill amount that's due. Also, provide more push notifications/alert options on the phone
Thank you!!

Upgrades have locked me out!
I’ve been using Empower for years, from when it was Personal Capital. It had been seamless although when I’m traveling in Southeast Asia in the winter, it takes extra time to verify it’s me.
Now, however, with the last upgrade and change to the app, I can’t get in and I can’t even log into the website to discuss it withCustomer Support. The “verify I’m human“ part takes minutes and often gets into a loop then ultimately says an error has occurred and to contact support; something it won’t let me do!
As it is it’s zero stars for me, but when it worked it was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for the ability to monitor my assets & liabilities all in one place.

I love it.
This is a great app with a lot of useful features for monitoring and recording almost any kind of account you have!
Not what it used to be
This application used to be amazing when it was part of personal capital. Since then, it has been on a steady decline. Currently about 1/2 of my accounts will not update, I have opened support tickets, but they do nothing to help. Even as the app has become less and less functional, they spend more and more effort trying to get me to pay for financial services.
On top of it now being unusable, they have no mechanism for exporting data, so I am going to loose my ~10 years of historical data. Do not use this app.

Boo!!!
Remove this app. It is dead!!!
Used to be great
The RET app is completely separate and different. I have a JW retirement account AND. personal dashboard. There’s no way for me to log into the personal dashboard on my phone since the RET defaults to my retirement account.
No longer supported
App is not supported, will not load, and instead points to the Empower Personal Retirement App, which does not have the same functionality and is focused on their own retirement account. Very disappointing!
Completely unresponsive
Changed app access with no warning. Unable to login on new app and support is completely unresponsive after multiple attempts to contact, including requests to delete account linked to my financial institutions I can no longer access. Not who you want to trust with access to your banking.
