Doesn’t Work with Older RFA-Z109 Eagle Gateways

I’ve had the Eagle RFA-Z109 (legacy Eagle gateway I believe they renamed as the EAGLE 100) since Rainforest Automation started making them around 2012. It still works fine with my PG&E (California) SmartMeter, but this app doesn’t. Won’t even connect. Maybe it was never intended to, but if so that should be disclosed on the description. And I shouldn’t have to create a Rainforest Automation account just to view my own meter readings from the locally connected Eagle.

Works well when it works

The app has been good over the past 3-4 years on PG&E (California) but has recently (about May 2020) stopped working. I can no longer log into the system with the app. Logging in via the website is fine, so there is something wrong with the app integration.

Crashes every time I open it. Any chance of an update? iPhone 11 Pro. iOS 13

Does not allow login via cloud or local. Using browser I am able to login in, but not with this app. Useless app.

What does EnergyVUE do?

EnergyVUE allows you to view your smart meter's real-time energy usage. It displays your home's instantaneous usage, provides graphs for daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly consumption, and can show live text messages from your smart meter.

What are the requirements to use EnergyVUE?

This app requires the use of a legacy EAGLE gateway and is NOT compatible with the new EAGLE-200. You also need an account from rainforestcloud.com with your EAGLE registered. It's recommended to update your EAGLE to the latest version.

Is EnergyVUE compatible with all smart meters?

The app is designed to work with smart meters that are compatible with the legacy EAGLE gateway. It is explicitly stated that it is not compatible with the new EAGLE-200.

How can I see my energy usage patterns?

EnergyVUE provides graphical representations of your energy usage over different time periods. You can view graphs for your Day, Week, Month, and Year to understand your consumption trends.
