ENGINE 3D

Where does fuel go before it burns? How does an engine turn the wheels? ENGINE 3D lets you explore the moving mechanisms inside cars and motorcycles. See through the body, move closer to individual parts, and follow the connections between fuel, combustion, and power. FOLLOW FUEL AND POWER Trace fuel from the tank through intake, combustion, and exhaust. Watch power travel from the crankshaft through the clutch and transmission to the wheels. Color and animation reveal how the whole vehicle connects. Automatic guides take you through each route. WATCH COMBUSTION IN SLOW MOTION Observe intake, compression, combustion, and exhaust with the current stage shown on screen. Compare four-stroke, two-stroke, and rotary engines through their internal motion. TAKE THE CONTROLS Use the throttle, clutch, and gears to change engine speed and drivetrain motion. Drag to rotate and pinch to zoom. Explore in portrait or landscape on iPhone and iPad.
