About

Enogu is oil painting on your phone, with the paint behaving as paint does. The paint has body. Lay it on thick and it stands up in ridges; drag a knife and it smears. Tilt the phone and the light moves across the brushwork, the way a painting catches the window as you turn it. Colors mix as pigments do, not as light does: blue and yellow make green, and a touch of green dulls a red the way it would on a palette. Every hair of the brush carries its own paint, so a stroke starts solid, turns streaky, then breaks into dry-brush texture as it runs out. Drag through wet color and the brush carries it on. Let it dry, and paint over it. WHY IT FEELS LIKE PAINTING • Thick paint with real relief, lit live by your phone's tilt • Fifteen artists' pigments, mixed as pigments: a split-primary palette with its earths, each in four shades from the tube to a light tint • Fourteen brushes that behave like their real shapes: flat, bright, filbert, angle, round, rigger, dagger, fan, mop, comb, scruffy, stippler, egbert and liner, plus a palette knife and a rag • Slow strokes lay solid paint, quick ones part into streaks, a light touch skims the canvas grain • Press flatter for a broader, heavier stroke • The paint lands just above your fingertip, at an outline of the brush itself, so your finger never hides the mark • Wet-into-wet blending, a blender that softens colors into each other without leaving a mark, dry-brush texture, and a Dry button to paint over what's there MADE FOR THE HAND • Everything lives in the four corners, under your thumbs; the whole screen is canvas • Pinch to zoom: the brush keeps its size on screen, so it paints finer, for eyes and edges • Undo with one tap, or a two-finger tap • Trace over a photo of your own to get the drawing right; one tap shows or hides it • Save a painting as a file to keep in Files or iCloud Drive, and open it again on any iPhone • Your paintings: choose several to share, save or discard at once PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, no ads, no tracking, and nothing is collected. Your paintings stay on your phone, unless you save one as a file yourself. Save one to Photos or share it when you choose.
