EOBD-FACILE is a winner it’s updated very regular since I bought the full version and its diagnostic info is enough for me to do my job on the fly. Mechanics have all the usual fish tools but their a little expensive to carry round in the car or have about you and a little bulky but this being a literal pocket Swiss Army knife for most mechanics I believe.

FAQ

What does EOBD Facile do?

EOBD Facile is an OBD2 car scanner that turns your smartphone into a professional diagnostic tool. It allows you to read and clear engine and transmission fault codes (DTCs), monitor real-time vehicle sensor data, and perform various diagnostic tests without needing a mechanic.

What are the key features of EOBD Facile?

Key features include reading and clearing engine and transmission fault codes, turning off the check engine light, displaying manufacturer-specific error codes, real-time monitoring of engine torque and sensors with live graphs, VIN decoding, acceleration performance testing, and the ability to generate PDF diagnostic reports.

How much does EOBD Facile cost?

The app is free to download and use for basic diagnostics. An optional 'PLUS' version is available via in-app purchase, which unlocks advanced features like manufacturer-specific codes, unlimited sensor recording, PDF reports, VIN decoding, and sensor coherence testing for professional-grade diagnostics.

What vehicles are compatible with EOBD Facile?

The app works with all vehicles compliant with the OBD2 standard (also referred to as OBD-II, OBD 2, EOBD or OBDii). This generally includes gasoline cars from 2001, diesel cars from 2004, and commercial vehicles from 2007 onwards. It connects via an ELM327 Bluetooth or WiFi adapter.

Can I use EOBD Facile to fix my car myself?

Yes, the app empowers you to diagnose issues yourself. By reading and clearing fault codes, you can understand what's wrong with your engine or transmission. The real-time sensor data and diagnostic features can help you identify problems and potentially avoid costly mechanic visits for common issues.
