Popup to install malware

I installed the app and attempted to set up a new Bluetooth adapter. In the middle of searching for the device I started getting in app notifications to install a cleanup tool because my device is infected. I know that it’s not.

FAQ

What does the OBD2 Scanner app do?

This app turns your phone into a car mechanic by allowing you to diagnose and monitor your vehicle using an OBD2 ELM327 compatible adapter. You can view real-time engine data, read and clear trouble codes, track performance metrics, and customize your dashboard.

What features are available in the app?

Key features include real-time data display (engine speed, fuel use, temperatures), reading and clearing trouble codes, performance tracking (fuel efficiency, acceleration), customizable dashboards, and access to a repair manual database for troubleshooting.

How much does the OBD2 Scanner app cost?

The app is free to install, but offers premium features that require a purchase or subscription. Non-subscribed users can access premium features a limited number of times per day. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled 24 hours prior to the end of the period.

What do I need to use this app?

To use the app, you will need a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth 4.0 (Bluetooth LE) OBD2 ELM327 compatible adapter. This adapter plugs into your car's diagnostic socket and allows your phone to access the vehicle's diagnostic information.

What kind of cars is this app compatible with?

The app works with all OBD2 scanners and is designed to access information from your car's onboard computer. However, the amount of data displayed depends on the sensors supported by your specific vehicle's ECUs. It's recommended to avoid cheap ELM327 adapters marked as v.2.1 due to potential bugs.
