Not recommended at all. Right swap to end charging show error every time. It’s not working and I have to charge the car in public parking area. Spend £1400 for this useless service

Major Company Rubbish App

Scheduled charging hasn’t worked and needs to be done manually. When one has work in the morning one doesn’t expect to have to stay up until midnight to manually put the car on charge.
If had the choice I certainly wouldn’t use EOn again. Why would you take a perfectly fine working tool to change it where it now doesn’t work and these fools don’t know how to fix it. Been at least 2 months now where no updates to inform their customers on when things will be back to normal.
Customer services don’t respond to you either

Always offline

Came from the E-ON HOME app which has been discontinued no advice to say it was discontinued this app just says your charger is offline and won’t connect although charger is definitely on line and connected as vehicle charges as soon as you connect the cable so can’t schedule or set the charger to privacy mode E-ON customer service take anything up to 5 days to get back to you just a total disgrace they fitted the charger too so it not a third party charger wish I never got involved with them they are totally useless .

Payment Details Taken, But No Working Account

Very poor experience from start to finish. I downloaded the E.ON Drive app, registered, and added my payment details, but no confirmation email ever arrived. I waited several hours and then tried again using a different email address, but exactly the same thing happened. I now appear to have two partially created accounts and cannot log into either of them.

What makes it worse is that there is no obvious way to resend the confirmation email, no clear recovery option, and no practical way forward without starting all over again, which clearly does not solve the underlying issue.

It feels surprisingly amateur for an app linked to a major energy company. I am sure it works fine if everything goes perfectly first time, but when something goes wrong the system seems completely unable to cope. Very frustrating experience and not what you want when relying on an app for EV charging. Would give 0 stars if that were possible.

Ev chargers

Absolutely useless. 3 chargers none working rang the helpline who said they will create a case but could not help.

Glitchy App, Poor Correspondence

The app itself is poorly made. Runs slowly randomly logs out for no apparent reason.

Recently they have stopped accepting payments from Amex. I had no prior correspondence this was going to take place so was left unable to charge my car until I removed the payment method to re-add it in the hopes it would fix the issue.

Would give zero stars

Utterly useless app. Can’t register a new account so can’t use.

Terrible

Use PodPoint instead

If you’re looking for an app and home charger that fails after most charges and you’d like to reboot the home charger or turn off and on at the mains then EON Drive is the best choice

Use something else honestly

£15 deposit? No thanks

I would love to drive a fully electric, but experiences with services like these put me off. I travel the country and have already downloaded 9 apps to charge my PHEV. All of them require a deposit to charge, then the charger doesn’t work. Just let me tap my credit card!!

Couldn’t get it to work

There are 2 options:
One you set up and account with lots of personal details and have at least £15 in the account t whether used or not. The other is lay as you go but you need a unit number which wasn’t anywhere on the panel. Gave up in the end and suffered range anxiety as the lesser of 2 evils.

No Invoices

A complete disappointment. They don't provide invoices and their app doesn't show receipts. Their customer service team is unresponsive and unhelpful.

Beyond poor

Only gave it one star because there’s not an option to give none. Had my unit fitted 6 weeks ago and it just doesn’t work reliably, either through the app or the RFID cards they give you. I’ve waited round outside the house for up to an hour trying to get the charging sequence to start, and now the unit has packed up altogether. The online engineers are helpful, trying to do their best, but the one I spoke to today had no explanation for why he couldn’t get it to start at his end either. Their customer service team are slow and unresponsive, taking up to 5 days to answer emails. I have made a for al complaint to Eon and was told I’d be contacted within 24 hours by a complaints manager, but I’m still waiting 12 days later.

I’m going to have to get the unit replaced and I will sue Eon for the cost of doing so. Avoid at all costs

Better after firmware update

The home charger is now working after eon forced the firmware update to the box after complaining that I was having to reset it several times a day and was going offline mid charge meaning the car wasn’t fully charged when I needed it to be. Also, app developers, if you see this, please, please, please can you put it a delayed start/timer function so I can take full advantage of my EV electric tariff’s cheaper hours.

Issues with stopping charge

Whenever I use these chargers I have issues with stopping charge via the app. I can disconnect but the app still shows as charging and a cost for doing so. Had to ring their helpline 0333 202 4417 who advised it is a problem with the app and to update to latest version. According to apple App Store I already have the latest version, so the bug is still not fixed.

EON Charging app

Unless you are desperate to charge I would avoid this app and EON like the plague.
I was in an area of poor signal and on the 4th attempt I managed to download the app and create an account.
They insist on immediately taking £15 from your card and on keeping a float in your account whether it is used or not, so they are obviously using it to fund their business and to prevent it going into liquidation like so many other electricity suppliers.
I NEVER did get to charge my car as I couldn’t verify the account!
I’m now faced with a battle to get my money back and close the account as I certainly won’t be going near them again.

Yet again another over complicated app based EV charging system which seems designed to make you give up and go back to fossil fuel. Look at InstaVolt- plug in, tap and go. It works. This does not.

Poor

When it works it is fine, but this is my work car parking charging and twice now it had bugged out ‘charging’ on the app when it’s not charging my car and seemingly the units aren’t working. Even when I unplug it continues charging! Close app / turn off phone, nothing works so I can’t swap to another unit to charge there. Have to call Germany to get it fixed, customer services is too slow for this frequent a problem.

Okay once you work out the connection order

Took numerous attempts to register card payment. Kept rejecting as I have two factor authentication for new debits and this app doesn’t seem to work if you require this. Tried another card and it immediately debited £15 from the card as a credit for charging.

When trying to charge I did as charge point said by selecting charger and connecting car but when I then swiped the red bar at the bottom to charge it came up with an error. After several attempts I eventually worked out that I had to swipe to start charge in the app before connecting the car! Instructions could definitely be clearer.

Once connected it work fine and I could see how much charge was being added and cost for charge. At £0.21 per kWh it’s not too bad, especially when you’re on holiday in the middle of Perthshire with limited options!

Pathetic!

For a company with a mission to develop charging infrastructure, this is a pathetic start. The app is awful, their website doesn’t work and there’s nobody answering their telephone either. This experience has convinced me never to use eOn for anything, including my home utility supply!
