Epitope helps people with food allergies, and the parents and caregivers who look after them, check food labels faster and keep the records an allergist asks for.
SCAN
Point your camera at a barcode. Epitope looks the product up in Open Food Facts, and in USDA FoodData Central when Open Food Facts has no ingredient list, and compares its declared allergens and ingredient list with the allergens on your profile. No barcode, or no record? Photograph the ingredient list and Epitope reads it on your phone. It reads English and Spanish labels. Every result shows why it was flagged and the ingredient list it was based on, so you can check it against the package in your hand.
CROSS-REACTIVITY WATCH
Tell Epitope about related sensitizations such as birch pollen, latex or alpha-gal, and it points out foods that share a protein family with them.
YOUR OWN WATCH LIST
Add anything else you avoid, from additives and sweeteners to dyes, and scans flag them separately from your allergens.
REACTION JOURNAL
Log what happened, when, what you suspect, and what you did about it. Epitope highlights repeated triggers and builds a summary you can print for your allergist.
CARDS YOU CAN HAND OVER
An anaphylaxis action plan, a restaurant allergy card, a travel card translated into twelve languages, a school plan, and a one-page allergy history for an anesthesia team. Print them or save them as PDF.
TRACKERS
Auto-injector expiry dates, allergist appointments, oral food challenges, and growth measurements, with reminders when you open the app.
FAMILY PROFILES
Keep a separate profile for each person, each with their own allergens, journal and cards.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
There is no account. Everything you enter stays on your device. A product lookup sends only the barcode. You can export or erase your data at any time.
IMPORTANT
Epitope is an educational and record-keeping tool. It does not diagnose, treat, or replace your allergist. Product data comes from a public database and can be incomplete or out of date: always read the actual label. In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.
