The app is not functional!
I have been with ERA Protect for a long time. I recently upgraded to this app after being advised that the old app was going to be removed. I have never had so many false alarms, the app frequently tells me the system is unset, then the alarm is triggered as soon as I open the door. I wish I could revert to the old app. I even considered removing the alarm components and just using the cameras. The initial screen is too small and the original screen which comes up now and again bizarrely was much better. Please get this sorted.

I find the app glitchy and temperamental.
Also they need to make deleting recordings on the doorbell easier. One has to delete each recording one by one which is a pain. It would be better to have a select all or select option so all or many recordings could be deleted at once.

Logging out constantly
The app constantly logs me out, integration with Apple Face Unlock is not integrated well so I have to manually enter details every time I get home.
Geo unlock is flaky at best.

TouchKey app needs low battery notification
TouchKey lock fingerprint operation works well most of the time and the remote unlock via the hub is useful. However the 4 x CR123 batteries died yesterday after approx 4 months operation with audio announcement on lock that batteries need replacing, lock no longer operated. There was NO low battery notification beforehand, please add this feature!

Worst item I’ve ever bought
Smart lock (finger print) is hit and miss! Had less than 6 months and multiple issues with app. No faith in lock working consistently. Because the key doesn’t get used, when electronic entry fails (for various reasons) the key is difficult to use. Should’ve just got a normal lock with extra keys and saved £450!

Disappointing
The new updated app jumps out after 10 seconds and fails to load camera activity reliably on opening. A poor outcome following the last update.

Adds to Alexa then stops working
Good but could be better
Main issue is the geolocation feature which is great when it works but that’s only about a third of the time. I think the problem is that the app logs out when I’m out of range for a while.
Very poor
App keeps logging me out so have to constantly keep login in always when I get home and want to disarm alarm. Cameras constantly go off line. Alarm frequently disarms itself after setting and has to be set again, outside camera does not pick up movement, so pretty useless. Geofencing works sometimes but not reliable
Been with Response Alarms/ERA for 34 odd years and this system is by far the worst, never had problems with all the previous systems f try on them.

The long story…
I purchased an ERA Protect alarm kit with two cameras plus a bunch of extra sensors about 6 months ago. Install was a breeze, everything started off great. The app looks good and is fairly easy to use.
However, you start to notice the details. When copying numbers into the app, it took the space and dropped the last digit. So the primary contact was never called when the alarm went off! ERA do get points as they called me and asked me to fix after a few months.
Then second camera stopped notifying motion, their tech support couldn’t resolve it. I just got a turn it off and on again.
Then I also noticed whenever there was a motion notification in the app (from the first camera) the app crashes when you click it.
Now the final blow, after 6 months I can’t even set my alarm from the app - no errors just doesn’t work. I’ll see what their support team says - but I’m away so the typical ‘turn it off and on again’ just doesn’t cut it.
If you want a toy, sure this is great, for a security device, look elsewhere.

A step backwards
I do know why companies keep trying to change/upgrade apps. They always fail to work as well as the app they are replacing. Other the colour colour change from blue to red and a few very minor changes, I cannot see the upgrade. In fact, it’s a step backwards, why does it need to keep running in the background ? I have tried to go back to the old app but no longer get motion notifications. Please let us carry on using the old app.

Great idea a few niggles
I have installed this app and my biggest bug bare is the app drops out quite regularly and the signing process does fully work with Face ID as it should so when you get to the door your messing with email’s and password s
Also the signing up process for guests isn’t great
The sign up email text is small so when you click the link it’s easy to think you have completed the set up the link takes you to a website with a temporary password that is very small when viewed on a phone. If you don’t enter this code immediately the only way to get a new one is for the admin to delete and re add the user which is frustrating. I’m using it for an air BnB and it needs to be as idiot proof as possible

Not great
I’ve had the ERA Touchkey for 6 months and unfortunately the App is very ‘flaky’ which is a real shame.
When it works it’s great but every couple of months the whole thing just stops working - no warning - and it’s the batteries that have died. With something as critical as a front door lock some sort of warning of low power is a must.
Also when setting others up on the app it is very hit and miss as to whether or not it will work.
I’ve given 2 stars as when it works it is brilliant but too unreliable for a front door lock!
