Still use this regularly
Not sure if the developer will ever see this but I just wanted to say this app is still incredibly useful & one that I use quite regularly despite being 4-5 years out of dateβeffortless text transformation indeed. Anyway, thanks for making this app & I hope it continues to live on!
baffling UI on Mac app
i like the Esse iOS app, but this Mac version is so baffling and frustrating. it's a weird puzzle just trying to use it.
Custom script
The custom script does not work for me. Even after adding the js file in cloud drive Esse/scripts/somescript.js, it says 0 scripts loaded.
Sentence Case Function does not work
The main reason for downloading this app was to get all cap sentences converted to sentence case. Only lowercase, capitalize words, remove empty lines seem to work.
Fantastic Text Converter
I have used this application to do nothing productive, just converting regular text to spongebob case. This app is super easy to use and makes updating text really easy. Highlight the text, click the Share Button, Transform Text, and then select the case to use.
Brilliant
Perfect this is just what my shortcuts needed and free! Thanks Ameba Labs, this will work nicely with your AnyBuffer clipboard manager which is one of my most used and loved applications ππΌ
Help with using in shortcut across devices
Hello! I have a text transformation I use to lowercase+kebab case some text. I saved it as a custom function on my iPad for use in a shortcut. It works great. When I go to my iPhone copy of Esse, that custom function isn't available. I recreated it with the exact same name but the shortcut errors out when run.
Is there a way to use a custom function in a shortcut and have it work on both my iPhone and iPad?
Thanks!
UPDATE: I was able to split my custom function's transformations up into individual built-in functions, eliminating my need to sync across devices. Now my shortcut works on each device as expected.

Custom functions are not synced between devices as of now, you have to re-create them on each device. Can you please email me at info@ameba.co so I could help you with the issue youβre facing on iPhone?
A rare thing, this.
Very rarely do you come across an app that is both exceptionally functional and tastefully designed and a pleasure to use. Even more so because ESSE is the passion project of a single, FEMALE developer.
This app is the Swiss Army knife of text cleaning and modulation. Arrogant bro-coders take note: here is an app that executes sterile functions wrapped in a humanistic and inviting ui that pleases the masses and keeps getting bette...girls rule and boys drool.

All text manipulations you'd ever want, and more.
A great app, translated from IOS. The UI is not as smooth as on IOS, but what it does is great. Some are super usefu, for example:
CamelCase conversion: allTextConversionsYou'dEverWantAndMore
Find duplicates.
Extract dates from text.
Convert numbers to words:
3000 miles away -> three thousand miles away
Icon letters: βΆ β β β βΊ β β β βΆ β βΎ β β β βΆ β βΎ β β β β β β ' βΉ βΊ β βΊ β β βΆ β β , βΆ β βΉ β β β βΊ .

Thank You for Your Superb Apps
Updated Review (02-11-20):
Just wanted to say again how awesome you are as a developer and how rad your apps are I think. I bought or downloaded most of your applications and I have to say you're a real pro at this stuff I believe.
Your apps fill the niche that I always wanted but wasn't sure I wanted, haha. That probably made no sense at all, but I'm tired as crap and have been awake for over a day already. Basically, you've created apps that are genius in my mind and I never I knew wanted or needed them. But I happened upon most of them searching for other stuff and I now that I own them I wouldn't want to ever do without these programs. Thank you, sincerely, Kat π±.
I thoroughly enjoy and appreciate this app, Anybuffer and all the others. And I eagerly await any new, unique, inventive and kick butt new apps you come out with. I'll buy or download anything your release honestly. Well, unless you start to offer an app for something like fans of "reality" television shows. I loathe that stuff, so won't be downloading that particular offering, haha. But most likely anything else you create and offer, I'm first in the proverbial line, I promise.
I value and adore developers like you; ones who are not scum like so many developers are today in my opinion. You don't peddle in the disgusting and vile practices of in-app purchases or subscriptions, meaning to me that you have a moral compass that isn't broken and have actual proper business ethics. Which is a rare thing on the App Store today I've sadly found. You just create brilliant apps and sell them for one fair price. Which is the way the world used to work before every other developer under the sun became such greedy pigs. And the way the world should work in applications and video games. And the way it will hopefully return to one day which most customers wake the heck up and realize just how much they being ripped off constantly.
So, for that dedication to being upstanding and a good person, not to mention the quality programs you offer in my opinion. Well, I again thank you sincerely and am very grateful that you have talent and scruples it seems to meππ».
Thanks for all you do, hope you're doing well and God bless β€οΈππ·.
Oh, and, I think it's very generous you appear to be offering this app free of charge with no fetid to compensate for it. I actually bought this app when it was paid. I only hope though that the very generous seeming move to offer Esse completely free right now. Doesn't mean that you plan to add a subscription plan to this app please. Not only because, as I said I bought this app with the expectation that I was purchasing a premium product and that subscription move would be ripping me off like so many disreputable developers do today. But, it would just erase all the very kind things I said and currently think about you as a developer, as listed above. So, I hope you're just one of those rare folks like myself out there who actually are generous and have a soul, heh. But, I'm glad to pay you a one-time price for any app you come out with. And, again, it's so kind and generous of you I believe to offer this app non gratis now. You give me hope that there are actually a few decent human beings still developing applications for iOS today. Thank you. Please disregard all my typos and rambling if there is any of that. As I said, I'm over 24 hours now with no sleep, hehe πππ».

I've enjoyed using Esse quite a lot. Many thanks to the developer for creating this app and selling it for one fair price. I really enjoy all the options that you can select through the share menu. It saves me a lot of time and in general I just find it to be lots of fun to mess around with.
Thanks, again, for this application/tool and God bless.

What an app SHOULD BE.
I want to use this so bad, however in iOS 13 tbeee is not way to minimize the keypadβand seeing as the functions to select are at the bottom fot ej screen/βit just woes the work
Fabulous idea and hopefully someone comes around and emulates this, however they actually test for show-stopper ls such as this.

You are correct, I never thought I click on the screen to close the keypad. (Itβs kind of fluid too. I like it. Iβve changed my review to 5 stars and please accept my apology. It might not hurt to include the minimize control on the keypad too.
Fantastic app. I have some questions /enhancement suggestions Iβll send a direct email.

You can dismiss the keyboard by tapping anywhere on the screen. I'll consider adding a "Hide keyboard" button to make it more obvious.
FREE!!
It does EVERYTHING that other similar apps do! The only difference is they ask for $4.00 and or annual subscription!!
Which one would you choose?!!
Thank You, Developer!! :-)
