Very useful app

I have used this app for every road trip in my Model X since the app was in early development. It is very useful for planning multi-leg trips and to evaluate supercharger options.

Doesn’t work anymore

Even basic functions don’t work. I press Org SoC and they keyboard comes up and immediately disappears. Same for Min SoC. I’m kind of shocked the developer is still charging for this as it doesn’t appear to be maintained. (Before, it was clunky but it somewhat worked)

Just doesn’t work

I tried to plan a new trip. It just wouldn’t accept the start and destination locations even though it had previously. Not Good!

App no longer runs. Invalid arrival time

Used program with mixed to good results for several years. Program failed to run today and the problem appears to be an invalid arrival time, although I do not see any way to go in and set the arrival time, only departure.

Please repair promptly (September 19, 2021) or refund renewal price. Thanks.

Garbage software

If I was allowed to give zero stars I would!!

This app is using some real slow software, you would be fifteen to twenty minutes behind on your trip if you try to do this app last minute!

I put my starting and finishing addresses in the boxes and it allowed me to choose the best match, but when I pushed calculate it said both addresses the app gave me we’re not allowed and to only select from drop down?

I did that several times and it never took the addresses the app gave me? Stick with the on board map in your Tesla and keep away from garbage apps like this that slander Tesla’s good name by using “Tesla” their app name!

Fix the bugs and pay for some better app developers!

You have to have this if you own a Tesla

This thing is the most amazing app I’ve ever seen. Allows you to optimize your charging stops for a road trip. While this seems like it may be unnecessary given the on board route planner I can tell you this works much better. The onboard system tries to minimize stops (an option in this software) so it will make you drive as far as you can, then have a nice long charge stop. This software allows you several options, including min charging time. Thus, you can take more frequent shorter charging stops and minimize your driving time. Takes into account temperature, winds, elevation changes, etc to produce a very accurate consumption rate. I’m amazed every time how close it gets to the real rate. App allows you to send your route, all stops, to your onboard nav, via calendar entries. I love this thing. Yes the interface can be a bit glitchy at times, but the developer has always been extremely responsive to emails.

And quick update, my wife drove our model X on a 90 mile road trip to the neighboring town. This software predicted the energy usage to within 1% of actual. (Ended up having 1% more).

And one more, just did a 1000 mile trip to a national park and back. Again, all stops were within a % point. Amazing.

Disappointing

I expected a lot more from this app. Long trips can not be simulated, as the app suggests to upgrade and won’t simulate your trip. Also, the graphic interface is terrible, with poor contrasts and too much text, too small font. It is hard to read even on an iPad,
It has potential, but not for me as it stands.

Too buggy

I’ve completely given up on this app. It’s super buggy on the iPad but even on the iPhone it doesn’t work right. It always shows too little energy usage for my performance model 3. No matter what I adjust, nothing changed it, at all. Power factor, 90% miles, nothing. Zero impact. Just too buggy to use.

Confused by the 1 Stars

I’ve used this app extensively this past year, taking trips from Central Illinois out to Utah and then all over Colorado, throughout the Midwest, and recently two trips to the Smoky Mountains and North Carolina. I’ve found it to be very accurate in terms of plotting a solid route and giving time estimates.

It is a complex piece of software, and the old adage holds true - garbage in, garbage out.

Can the UI be improved? Sure. Can it give warnings if a user puts in conflicting information? Of course. But, we are driving complex vehicles loaded with technology. This software app tries to integrate all of that into an app that won’t leave you stranded on the side of the road.

This is a solid app that will get you where you want to go - as long as you take the time to learn how to use it.

Crashes

App crashes every time I try to input the type of car I am driving.

Great Tesla specific trip planner

Love the fact it runs on my phone.
Takes a bit to learn the tool, but once you do it really is great for short round-trips to multiday and segment stops!

Developer is super responsive via email!

Having issues but developer is responsive

Developer was very responsive to getting back with me on my issues. I’m still trying to get it working but feel like fixes will be arriving in updates.

Non intuitive

I find this app difficult to use, the interface is difficult to navigate, it is not clear how to change settings, icons and icon states are not obvious, and I find the help text unhelpful. I agree with another reviewer: “I really want to like this app.” To that end I’ve made an annual subscription but would not be inclined to renew without considerable improvement.

Right idea but poor implementation

I want to love this app as it has the theory to be exactly what the in car Tesla Nav can’t do. BUT,it struggles with the simplest of things. I do a lot of day trips and want to enter round trips back home. It will not let you do this at all. Reverse waypoint order does nothing. You are suppose to be able to reorder waypoints with an arrow in the segment browser, but no arrow exists as mentioned in instructions. Save your money for now.

Time problem

I keep putting 6:00 pm as my start time and the app ignores it. Yes, default is 8:00 am, but why let a new trip accept a different start time if the app is gonna revert to the default time.

Broken

This app does not work at all. Kept asking me to enter a destination after repeated attempts. It’s a good idea but a terrible execution.

Can’t be serious

This app is phenomenally flawed. (1) car types that are not grayed out still trigger a ‘not supported’ message, (2) app refuses to automatically select chargers (“auto charger error. Verify communications”) even though I have tried it on Wi-Fi and lte, etc. The one time I got it to work, it planned for me to stop after 15 miles of driving to charge my 85% charged car to 100%, even though my route has me driving past 11 Superchargers. Why wouldn’t it have me stop at any of those?

Clearly, something is amiss with the app; it can’t be normal to have so many issues.

Horrible interface makes it useless

I need this to work. But it is so incredibly awkward and non intuitive as to be useless.

1- the link to google maps is broken. Can’t find my home address.
2- it should be easy to edit a trip or simply say “round trip” but the “add waypoint” feature does not seemingly allow me to add the second destination at the end or to reorder stops.

I purchased $9.99 to try needed long trip plan- but cannot get it to work.

Avoid this app!

Route Map Disappears Until Force Quit

I like the ability to create a big trip and divide it into daily segments, and have great hopes for this app. The problem I have is that it often stops displaying my route and stops on the map display. When it does that I fiddle around trying to get it back, then give up, force quit the application and restart. I am using an iPad Pro 11-inch with IOS 12.1.2 I have had the app for a couple of months, retrying it now and then. I use it in landscape mode with the apple keyboard/cover.

Claims every trip exceeds 500 miles

I can’t try the free version at all because it claims EVERY trip is over 500 miles.
