Having trouble

I find the puzzles challenging, which is fun. However, I’ve gotten to the stage of chasing the ghost to open the hall door. I can’t proceed even with all the hints. I searched a walkthrough on line and can see from the accompanying images that I should be able to see the ghost with the adder stone. I do not, so I’m unable to complete the sequence and proceed with the game.
I’d like some help or a refund of my purchase.

Game was fun definitely not worth paying $10.00 for it. Specially when it won’t let me do the last puzzle.
