Good when it works

Within the last week I’ve had to delete then download the app twice because app didn’t recognize my acct. Did Express hire former members from Biden admin.?

Hi Proud 2A, thanks for the feedback, and sorry for the hassle of having to reinstall the app more than once. If it's not recognizing your account after reinstalling, a couple of things worth checking: make sure you're logging in with the same email used to originally set up ExpressKeys, and confirm the app is fully updated to the latest version. If it still doesn't recognize your account after that, we'd recommend reaching out to our support team directly at support@expressvpn.com or via live chat at expressvpn.com so they can look into your account specifically. Thanks for your patience! The ExpressVPN Team

Useless

I’ve had an expressVPN account for several years but never considered using ExpressKeys password manager. However, I thought it would be helpful on my MacBook Pro when I’m using the Brave browser or any other browsers other than Safari, where I can access the Apple password manager easily. downloading the app onto the MacBook proved easy from the Chrome App Store. However, once I signed in with my ExpressVPN account it assumed I’d already set up an ExpressKeys account which I hadn’t. In fact, it kept asking me for a ExpressKeys which I never received because the setup process was not accessible if you already have an ExpressVPN account!!!
It’s really weird you just can’t access it to gain a password or a reset code which it requires if you can’t put a password in. Going round and round and round in circles. It was the same on my iPhone as well, trying to set up the app, thinking I might get a pw through that process, which I could use on the Mac. But no! I’m being requested to put a vault password in which I’ve never had because I haven’t had the opportunity of setting the bloody ExpressKeys up! Arrrgh! Round and round again. What a complete waste of time!

Hello Bejiggered, We are incredibly sorry for the frustrating loop you have experienced while trying to set up ExpressKeys on your MacBook Pro and iPhone. Going round in circles is the last thing we want for our users, and we want to help you get this sorted out right away. To help clarify the setup process, there is an important difference between your credentials: - Your ExpressVPN account password is what you use to sign in to your overall subscription. - Your ExpressKeys vault password is a separate, unique password that you create specifically to encrypt, lock, and unlock your password vault. If the app and Brave browser extension are prompting you to enter a vault password that you never created, our system may have a legacy vault configuration associated with your account from a previous trial or the older version of our keys feature. Because we utilize zero-knowledge encryption to help protect your digital privacy, we cannot see, retrieve, or reset a vault password for you. However, since you have not had the opportunity to save any logins yet, the best and quickest solution is to have our technical team reset your password manager account. This will clear the loop and allow you to initiate the setup process fresh, letting you create your primary vault password for the first time. Please contact our support team directly via our 24/7 live chat on our website or by email at support@expressvpn.com. We will gladly reset your keys account immediately so you can easily secure your passwords across all your browsers and devices. The ExpressVPN Team

Works

Works well and can be lumped in with your VPN plan. Great for general cybersecurity.

Great!

Safe, easy to use, finally as a own app. All i ever wanted. I would never change back to any other password manager.

Forcing Face ID Is a Security Concern

The app repeatedly pushes users to enable Face ID for unlocking. While I understand the convenience, this should never be forced or aggressively prompted in a security product.

In countries like Brazil, phone theft with coercion is common. Criminals often force victims to reveal their iPhone passcode. Because iOS treats passcode as equivalent to Face ID, linking vault access to device authentication creates a single point of failure. If the phone is unlocked under coercion, all apps tied to Face ID become immediately accessible.

Security apps should prioritize separation of layers:
• Independent master password
• Optional biometrics (never forced)
• A clear “Don’t ask again” option

Repeatedly prompting for Face ID reduces user control and weakens perceived security. Please respect user choice and allow biometric unlock to be permanently declined.

Privacy and Trust

Ive used ExpressVPN Keys for while and not that they launched a separate app for it, I am all about it. As always privacy matters and they do great with this.
