Much improved, but needs a bit more work

I just updated this app and was happy to see some improvements. However, as a blind person, I cannot always tell if there is sufficient lighting in a room. Please also include a light for this app which similar apps often have.

Some False Positives

While testing a few bills my camera pointed down at the floor and recognized a $50 bill from the carpet design. My shoes were in the view too and saw $5 when I move the camera.

This app really works

I’m currently in the process of testing out this (EYE NOTE)

Not working

App is not reading out the denomination it is reading in voiceover accessibility mode. Not good for visually impaired users.

Front camera ?

I am blind and i use this app from time to time and it has helped me out quite a bit, unfortunately the front camera on the phone will not work recognizing dollar bills. Is it possible to activate the front camera ???? It would be so much better cause of the way i carry my phone on shoulder strap .. if its not a feature can you please add it ?? Thanks Mak greets

Does what it says it will do. Even recognized a rather old $10 bill (that has the four cars on back). Should be useful for my wife, who is blind. BUT!

Appears only able to say-out-loud the monetary denominations that it sees. Also, in addition to the say-out-loud annunciator, the amount is also printed in very large, yellow print on the screen. In public, this would be a rather serious privacy and security issue.

Possible mitigation: Use of headphones and hiding the screen.

Preferred mitigation: Silent feedback to the user, such as vibrations, and the ability to disable either or both audio and visual feedback.

Therefore, my first impression of the software is a 3 of 5 rating.

Also, answering another reviewer who said that the software does not recognize counterfeit bills, please note that the write-up for this app contains as a disclaimer that it does not recognize counterfeit bills as counterfeit. So, I cannot hold this against them.

Does not work and iOS 14.5

I was 14.5 broke accessibility with this app.

Won’t work in dark room no light

Why would you not have the light turn on in a dark room to read currency? Blind people don’t have the lights on usually! You need the app to access the light on the smart phone in a dark room where there’s no light it is worthless does not work at all

I need three hands

I think it is cool how it reads the note so quickly. I haven’t tested it in the field yet but practicing at home makes me realize I need a third hand. It’s hard to manipulate the bills and hold the phone at the same time. Still is probably good for organizing bills in the home before leaving for shopping.

Doesn’t work

My fiancé is a cop and had a very obvious counterfeit $50 bill. The app just said it is $50. All it recognizes is the numbers or something. Regardless, it doesn’t work.

Update!

Please update to be compatible with iOS 11!

Update your app

Update your app

Needs updated.

I use to use this app a lot. I have macular degeneration... but since my phones upgrade I'm unable to use it. It says the app won't work with new ISO upgrade. 😞

EYE-NOTE

This app is quite helpful for a low vision or totally blind person. Thank you Apple and Department of treasury and engraving. Speaking as a visually impaired person I am truly amazed by the whirls that new technology have open for us!!

Not worth installing.

This app drained my battery after trying to scan two bills. It is not worth the effort to install it.

Used to work ...

The app worked quite well when I first installed it, but now doesn't work at all. I even tried reinstalling it, to no avail. Good thing I also have LookTel Money Reader; it actually works--and works _well!

Doesn't work on crumpled bills!

It needs to work on all types of bills - will never have only crisp bills to work with.

Really Cool!!

I read the reviews and downloaded the app. It works automatically when accessed. And keeps scanning to let you know what you have in front of you! Very nice! Free! I have the iPhone 5s, which can read my fingertips worth anything, but this? Totally cool!

Doesn't work

I have an iPhone 5 S and I tried this little app trying to compare it to my look tell money reader. It's a good thing that this app has no price or else I would be getting my money back. It doesn't work at all.

Awesome app

Very great app for recognize US currency. If Even tell you if it's the front or the back. And best of all , it's free no trap or hidden clause anywhere.
