My favorite app!!!

EyeReader is just so convenient...I’ve been using it and it works very well!

Love the update! Works with Apple Watch now.

Newest version has added some useful options. Enhanced zoom is really great for photos! Really helpful with the bright light.... That now you can set to stay on longer. Good stuff!

This is great!

I am reposting my original review below because it continues to be true. I love this app! I am forever handing my phone off to people because they can’t read something. Just this morning I was using it to read the specs on some loose (cordless) usb adapters to figure what they worked with... Thank you, Eyereader!

This app is great! Great for the obvious things like menu reading in candlelit restaurants, but I am using it for so many things. Reading the instructions on bottles that are too small to read and too critical not to read. Finding stuff that has disappeared under my car seats. Identifying the things that have become cat toys and migrated to dark and distant corners under large peices of furniture. Reading and photographing the model / serial number tags on appliances / furnaces / water heaters / etc. And then there was letting me find a flashlight and fresh batteries during that unexpected power outage.
Great app! Really handy!

this app is probably the worst I've ever seen I have tried to adjust the magnification and it won't and when I look at anything is blurred as well as it will not switch from white background to black background and white letters from the white background and black lettering to invert and I do need that purpose for this app as well as the tutorial whatever that comes up will not read that to me so I don't think this is a good app I dig it should be pulled or redesigned

Mediocre

Just adds light to your camera. Ok in a pinch.

To the idiots that gave 1 star

Save your money

Tried this tonight at Lupa- it was useless.

A Lifesaver!

I am developing macular degeneration and the world has gotten much darker recently. Some of my favorite restaurants favor the intimate atmosphere of low light, and I can't read the menu. Having my phone in my pocket with this app will mean I can continue to enjoy eating there. I also can no longer read the newspapers or most print books. This will be a huge assist.

Really?

Read about it in the NY Times today. Disappointed.

I want a Refund!

Really? I paid for this????
Waste of money..
It' no better than the built in camera.

REFUND!!!!!!!

RIP OFF

It is just accessing my camera with no additional benefits. Wish I could get my money back.

Must Have for Over-50 Crowd! Really Super Job!

This is an update, after 16 months of using this: EyeReader is a godsend!. I normally use bifocals (I'm 64), and I just tried another magnifier app--and I am even more impressed with EyeReader!
I have purchased several magnifier apps, and I like a couple of them, but EyeReader works the best and is the simplest to use. If you can't see close up, you can't see little controls, so simple is best, AND it still has all the bells and whistles: they're just hidden a little bit so you don't have to deal with them if you don't want to (or can't remember how to at that moment in the restaurant). The Help button is a very obvious (?) button, allowing access to instructions (for light off and on, taking a photo of the magnified object, and zooming). and zooming is the normal iPhone pinch/expand gesture that we all expect and do instinctively. Very Elegant and "Simple" in a good way. I read the complaint about having to shake the iPhone to turn the light on and off, but I have found (in testing several magnifier apps) that I always want the light ON for best image clarity, so it is not a big deal for me. I find this is a really good app that seems to take into account the needs and experience of the users. Really a Very Good Job! (Extra Bonus: If you have the light on, and take a picture of a pill bottle, you have clear, magnified photo of the label in your camera roll with a prescription number you can actually read when you call the pharmacy for a refill: VERY USEFUL !!)

Indispensable!

This app is great! I am always using it to find things I have dropped, or in one case, find the new hiding place of one of my cats. The best thing for me is the lighted magnifier. As someone with cataracts that have not yet been removed, this is a lifesaver. I have trouble in low light situations, especially indoors, and this is perfect!

YES!! Great enhancements!!

The Eye Reader application with the new features in the updated version are so good that I moved this app to my page 1. I really like being able to change the duration the light can stay lit rather than hassles with other similar apps. KC

Easy to use. Great!

I love this app! Like being able to just shake phone to turn and off. Very clear zooming also. Help button is useful.

Frustrating at best

Save your money. This app does not work as advertised. I gave it one star only because it opens and the light works as it should. Other than that it does not magnify clearly or easily. I'll chalk up this $1.99 to the lessons learned acct.

EyeReader

Difficult to focus! Agree with'Glitchy'.

Glitchy

Should be simple - turn on the built in camera flash and use the built in camera zoom. But this app is glitchy. If you touch the screen to zoom and then decide to adjust the zoom, as soon as you contact the screen it resets completely. Makes it difficult to adjust properly. Save your money.

Great value and it works!

One if the best apps I have paid for. So many times I forget my reading glasses and/or the restaurant is too dark to read the menu. This app works on all levels with my iPhone 5! Can't wait to use it at the theater now as well. Well worth the cost! Thanks

Worth every cent!

Don't leave home without it. The features of the Eye-Reader make this app a no-brainer and a must have in your daily living!! Golfer girl
