The iMessage app should allow you to share any contact that is in your phone’s contact database. This would include contacts from google as long as your google account is configured in your iOS device settings under Settings>Contacts>Accounts.
Can’t figure out how to make it work after installing
Going into messages directly and selecting a recipient I couldn’t get the contacts list to come up.
Maybe it’s something simple. Also I don’t see an icon for it on any of my screens
App drawer didn’t show until I hit the A icon.
Now I found it

The app is a messages app, not a full app, so it won’t show up on your Home Screen. The intent is to simply tap on a contact to share it in the current message thread. You should see the app in the “app drawer” in messages when you’re in a conversation. Edit: it looks like you edited your response. Thanks for following up and I’m glad it’s working for you now 😊
Awesome!
