Poor UX and utility

I’ve tried to love this app, I really have. But I’m deleting it after I post this. It does not recognize the words I want to look up. Ischemic is read as “Ikhemk” - that’s a challenging example but it IS a word in the Dictionary. The first problem is the app’s inability to read - and in turn define - words on a page. This is the point of the app!

Regardless of what word it looks up, I get a misread or wrong answer. Maybe I get a definition for “should” or “disappear”, but beyond elementary English, it does not work. I have all necessary dictionaries turned on so that’s not the issue.

The functionality of the app is also poor. There is no clear way to refresh and look up another word after a definition has been found! I have to close and re open the app to take another action. It’s a GREAT idea but the execution is flawed. Sorry!!!

Great app!

This app is just so wonderful and simple to use, and it turns out to be super useful when reading hard books; all you do is point the camera at it and it gives you the meaning

I like the concept

I really like the idea of this app. It’s free and it makes it easy to quickly lookup a definition while reading and not have to take time to type out a word. As others have mentioned there does seem to be a bug where it will only work one time and then stops working. If you close and reopen the app you’ll get another one time use. For those are having this issue, I have found that while you are hovering over a word if you swipe left to delete a word from your previous list it will do a lookup on the new word. Not sure why this works but it’s a little better than having to restart the app each time.

Doesn’t work

Very useful and light, but after one regnition, the aim is always green and dosn’t translate. Also it’s super inconvenient to close the dictionary at the top of the screen, should be swipe at the bottom, thank you.

has potential

this app has potential but it’s almost to buggy to use at all. not user friendly in any way, I found another app called CamDictionary that actually works. i’ll update my review if you get your stuff in order😂
