It’s great when it works
I used this app during the 2022-23 school year with no problems. I’m trying to set up my class for this school year and I can’t set the end date or select the grade. I’ve been trying for a few days now. I’ve uninstalled then reinstalled and still nothing. How can I get this app to work properly?
Not worth the purchase.
If you are a teacher in Australia, don’t bother purchasing this app. The text, language from the books don’t match the online assessment. The assessment online is American and does not match the Australian version. Eg, footpaths vs side walk.
Useless
I thought that this would actually include the entire text as I was hoping to use it virtually with my students. It’s useless for that purpose.
Terrible support! Be careful
If I could give the app 0 stars I would. I purchased both the app and books to test my students. I have been using the app for years. My 12.9 IPad Pro was updated to iOS 13 last week. After being updated, only some of the information saved on my iPad is visible, I can no longer access some 18 tests I have done in the past month, can no longer assess additional students. I contacted support 2x by email, 5 days later, I get a generic email saying everything should be set. Next, I do their online chat and explain the situation. I am then told that it will be 2-3 weeks before the app is fixed, they have to wait for Apple, and they cant help me access any information on their app. My question is why didn’t they beta test this? Either fix it before it was a problem or let users know not to update to iOS 13 until they fixed this issue. They never did their job so now they have made my job harder by cutting off access to all of my data for up to 3 weeks. Best part was that the support person put some of the responsibility on me, telling me I should have emailed the docs (I didn’t know that my data would be unavailable) or I should have been an online data user (more money). Take responsibility for your mistake and help users who have paid you good money!

Loved at first BUT
I loved this at first. It worked great and saved so much paper. Then, they day I had for testing, I suddenly can't swipe in as a non ODMS user. I tried everything, even re downloading the app. Then, because I re downloaded it, I lost all the data I had. As far as I can tell, there is no way to access that data. Thank goodness I had written it elsewhere. Then I finally got it working and thought I was set. Here I am a few days later trying to enter in my data and I once again can't get to it! So incredibly frustrating, not at all worth the money I paid if it is not reliable. I would put zero stars if I could.

Waste
I love spending 20 minutes swiping trying to get the actually app to work as a non-member. Also don't buy the universal. You might as well use a piece of blank paper and a pen because it's the same thing but the pen and paper is faster
Won't sync- crashes
Every time I go to sync my data to the ODMS the app crashes, and I am not able to get to the data to print out running records.
Very disappointed
I have used the paper and pencil version of F and P for years. I was very excited when an app was finally developed. Unfortunately I have been very disappointed with the product and the data management as a whole. The app will only work with the in app purchase of books. The customer service offered by the company is shockingly bad; calls aren't returned, long hold times, basic problems go unresolved. I hope things will improve but I am not optimistic.

Good when it works!
This program is very good - when it works. I used it for a couple of months and found it a great way to keep running records and benchmark assessments of kids. It reduces paper and allows for electronic storage of assessments. However, I would not recommend it because now after 2 months of using and loving it, it will no longer allow me to add any more students. I can only reassess the ones I already have assessed once. $35 is a lot of money to pay for an app that becomes useless after 2 months. Until they fix this don't waste you money.

Constantly freezes when adding students!!
The app is great overall, when it doesn't freeze on adding a student. Unfortunately this is a huge bug and for $15 a level - this is a HUGE drawback. Please fix!

The screen to add students to the class does not work...you cannot type anything!!!
Great, but not completely user friendly
The app is wonderful because all of the benchmark assessments are at my fingertips and the students are easily imported from the online database.
A few things could use work, though. It would be helpful if student errors could be coded on the go rather than waiting until after the book has been completely read. It's easier for me to code and assess errors as the student makes them, rather than afterward. Also, it would be great to be able to leave the assessment of one book open while opening a new book assessment for the same student. This way, I can go back after the student is finished and fill in my comments, rather than the assessment being closed to further notes as a PDF.
For the price, I believe that this app should be a bit more open to use the way it best fits a teacher to use it, rather then assessment noting only available in than exact order, without the ability to edit notes on a student after moving on to a new book.

Nice app
I really like this app a lot! It saves time giving the assessment and reduces the amount of copying I need to do. After just the third practice I had it down. I do not have an online account, so I email the PDFs out, or open them in my adobe app so I can save them. I haven't figured out how to play back the recordings I make of the students reading. It would be nice if i could do the item analysis after I am finished with the assessment so the kids are sitting and waiting for the comprehension piece. Any suggestions on playing back the recordings would be very welcome!

App not Working
When I try to administer a new assessment, the app is telling me to sync before it will allow me to start another assessment. No matter how many times I sync or restart, the app will not work. please advise!

So annoying
I purchased BAS 1 no problem, but also had purchase BAS 2 (I see kids K through 4) a few weeks later. I purchased BAS 2 and was charged- but never got it.
Also weird that I was charged tax- I've never been charged that before when getting an app.

I was also excited to see the App and know that I can now do Reading Records electronically.
