Ok app but nearly useless in the store
When I first started using Fairway’s mobile checkout in 2020 it was an industry leader. But while he app remains ok, it’s nearly useless in the store. A couple of years ago they updated the scales for weighing and scanning, and killed the ability to search by name (which is universal in every other market) you now have to wade through an absurd menu of veggie types (who knew potatoes weren’t in the root vegetable menu!). It can literally take five minutes to find an item—and nearly half the time you never find it. The menu for the olive bar has never worked; so forget about buying olives. And there are always packaged items that don’t show upon scans either. I used to shop at Fairway at least twice a week. Now it’s maybe once every four or five months because the frustration with mobile scanning is too great. And I *always* end up putting at least 3 or 4 things back on the shelf either because the barcode isn’t found or because I can’t find the fruit or veg in the insane menu system. PLEASE Fairway, you have great products…but you need to ditch the scale software that apparently was designed by chimpanzees and use the same scale software every other market in America now uses.

SNAP users would ALSO like to SAVE TIME by using the mobile checkout option!!
I was so happy to discover the “mobile checkout option”. Unfortunately, because I am a SNAP (food stamps) customer, the app doesn’t allow me to use it. I am relegated into waiting in the LONG, LONG LINES to check out.

There are many times, when the lines are so long, I leave the items in my basket, leave the store, and make my purchases at a more SNAP user-friendly store.
Please, please, please, fix things so I can add my SNAP card as a payment option!!! When I make online food purchases, this is permitted. (I am required to have a debit/credit card on my account to pay for non-SNAP eligible items.)
There should be a way to do this! After all, it is 2025!!! Thanks!!!
