Great plugin

Just started using this plugin, I’m really surprised how well it works, it’s hard to get a good wide double sound with a single guitar track without having phase problems, but this is absolutely awesome for a free plugin, keep up the good work!!! You have some great plugins

Ridiculous value

Everything by this dev is top notch. The UI is no frills but everything sounds amazing and is priced to sell. This dev is one of the best on iOS (and now Mac). I buy all of his stuff and have never had a regret

FAQ

What is FakeTake?

FakeTake is an audio effect plugin that replicates the studio trick of automatic double tracking. It uses delay, stereo processing, and modulation to create the illusion of a doubled vocal or instrument track.

What devices does FakeTake support?

FakeTake is supported on Mac, iPhone, iPad, and iPod. It functions as an AUv3 plugin, compatible with hosts like Logic and GarageBand.

How does the Delay parameter work in FakeTake?

The Delay parameter in FakeTake sets the time for the 'fake take'. Lower settings create a tighter double, while higher values produce a looser effect, similar to a slap-back echo.

Can FakeTake be used for instruments other than vocals?

Yes, FakeTake is designed to work well with many instruments, especially guitar. It can add depth and width to guitar tracks, potentially creating space in a mix for other elements like vocals.

What is the 'Drift' parameter in FakeTake?

The Drift parameter in FakeTake controls the amount of modulation applied to the delay time. This modulation affects both the original and processed signals, adding subtle variations to the doubled effect.

How does FakeTake handle stereo width?

The Spread parameter in FakeTake varies the stereo width of the double-tracking effect. At its maximum, the original and delayed signals are panned hard-left and hard-right, respectively, creating a wide stereo image.

Is FakeTake free to use?

Yes, FakeTake is available for free. The developer mentions that supporting their paid apps helps them release free ones as a thank you.

How often is FakeTake updated?

FakeTake was last updated on March 26, 2025, with version 1.0.1. This indicates recent development and ongoing support for the application.
